Chapter 307: Do You Want to See Me in a Wedding Dress?
Maggie paused, ensuring she sounded normal before answering Nathael's call. "Where are you? I can come get you," his deep voice said. He checked the timeโit was 3:00 PM.
"I'm at the supermarket. What do you want for dinner?" Maggie asked gently.
"Anything works," Nathael replied. His appetite wasn't particularly strong.
"I'll start driving. Let's meet at the supermarket entrance."
"Sure."
After giving him the address, Maggie drove to the supermarket. Arriving early, she relaxed in a mall cafรฉ, planning to make his favorite dishes for dinner.
More than ten minutes later, a tall, muscular man arrived, attracting many stares. Whispers filled the air: "Is he a celebrity? He's so handsome!" "He's even better-looking than some celebrities!" "Wow, he looked over here!"
Nathael had been in a long meeting, making important decisions and signing contracts. He'd hurried over, dressed in a navy blue suit and crisp white shirt. From a distance, his striking, serious face seemed sculpted, with intense eyes, a high nose, and thin lips that gave off a cold aura.
A smile crept into Maggie's eyes as she admired him. He was strikingly handsome. If she hadn't been blind in her past life, she probably wouldn't have stayed angry with him, even if he'd provoked her.
"How long have you been waiting?" Nathael asked, sitting beside her and taking her hand.
"Not long," Maggie replied, smiling but thinking about the upcoming month.
Nathael kissed her forehead and they strolled through the mall like any other couple. The supermarket was on the lower level. As they headed for the elevator, they passed a storefront. Maggie stopped.
This wedding dress wasn't particularly beautiful, or her style, but she couldn't move.
"Do you like it? Want to try it on?" Nathael asked, following her gaze.
Shaking her head, Maggie said, "The design's too complex. I prefer something simpler."
Nathael nodded. "Do you have any favorite brands or designers? I'll contact them for a custom order."
A pang hit Maggie's heart. "I haven't agreed to anything. Don't try to trick me," she whispered.
Nathael chuckled softly. "No harm in trying it on."
He had Alex contact the mall manager, and soon, the manager, Howard Grunk, and several staff rushed over. Mr. Grunk greeted Nathael respectfully. "Mr. Harris, I'm Caesar Mall's manager, and I'm pleased to be at your service."
Nathael said, "We want information on wedding dress brands and need your recommendations."
Howard glanced at Maggie, smiling broadly. "Congratulations to you both, Mr. Harris. It seems there'll be a joyous occasion soon."
Overwhelmed, Maggie tugged Nathael's sleeve. "What are you doing? We're not buying anything! Isn't this too much?"
"It's fine. You can try on a few dresses," Nathael reassured her softly.
They were led away, Maggie speechless. How did this happen? Weren't we supposed to be buying groceries?
Perhaps better brands were located higher up. The manager led them to the luxury section on the top floor. "This brand, LR, is a famous Italian brand. Designer Roger Roth is renowned. Their style is grand yet simple, exceptionally upscale and luxurious."
Maggie looked. The style and quality were exquisite.
"Would you like to try?" Nathael asked gently.
Maggie was silent for a few seconds. Then, meeting his gaze, she softly asked, "Do you want to see me in a wedding dress?"
"Yeah," Nathael replied.
Maggie's throat tightened. After a moment, she smiled. "Then I'll try some on." Maybe there wouldn't be another chance, or maybe she wouldn't ever wear a wedding dress. She considered it fulfilling one of his wishes and resolving a regret. She began to choose dresses earnestly.
Howard and his team stayed close, removing dust covers and enthusiastically explaining each dress. "This one is a fitted halter style, more suitable for a lawn weddingMs. Adam, I think this one is perfect. It's halter-style, with a simple sweetheart necklineThe skirt is full but not overly so, a good balance. It doesn't look like a cake."
Maggie smiled faintly. "I'll try this one."
Howard readily agreed. "This one suits you very well too. The satin gives off a beautiful sheenIt's a very elegant dressThis one has flowers but maintains a fresh feeling. You'll look like a forest fairy."
Knowing trying them all would be tedious, Maggie picked two more, then turned to Nathael. "Do you want to help me pick one more?"
His eyes darkened. "Sure. The one in the display case looks nice."
Maggie was stunned. "But isn't that one for display only?"
Maggie knew many dresses were only for display, showcasing the brand's capabilities. Some highly sought-after styles weren't sold to the public.
Before she could finish, a familiar voice rang out, "Wow, Joseph! This one's stunning!"
Everyone turned. Maggie frowned. What a small world. Just this morning, Ronald mentioned Vanessa and Joseph's engagement
(The final section, "Send Gifts 70," appears to be unrelated and possibly a leftover from a different context.)
