Chapter 327: You Got What You Wanted

As they grew older, Sebastian developed a dislike for music and instead became passionate about business and racing. His conflicts with Kevin intensified during his teenage years, ultimately leading to a final outburst that resulted in Sebastian leaving for a foreign country. He remained there for six years.

Seeing him again felt surreal to Maggie.

"I'll meet him later," Sebastian said with a hint of humor. "That old man always threatens to break my legs; I should bring you and Leo with me."

Maggie smiled and agreed.

Despite the constant back-and-forth between Sebastian and Kevin over the years, Maggie always believed they had a unique bond. Time, however, had changed them both. Kevin had softened, and Sebastian had matured, making a resurgence of their previous tension unlikely.

"Sounds good," Maggie agreed. "Leo and I will cook to welcome you back."

Sebastian looked at Maggie, recalling her first visit to his house. She had been shy and polite; however, beneath her obedience, an unspoken ambition gleamed in her bright eyes. Leo, accompanying her, had already begun to cultivate a mask of kindness, learning to conceal his sharper edges.

From their first encounter, Sebastian found them both intriguingโ€”far more interesting than typical, rule-abiding bookworms. He often caused trouble and let them take the blame. They, however, weren't ones to take it lying down, always finding ways to retaliate, resulting in more scoldings from Kevin. In this way, they grew closer.

The three became friends, causing all sorts of mischief together.

"Time flies," Sebastian said. "I can't believe you've grown up so much." His gaze fell on Maggie's face, and he felt a bit nostalgic.

"Are you going to leave again?" Maggie asked.

"I'm staying," Sebastian replied in a relaxed tone. "The company is expanding its domestic business, and I'm thinking about trying my hand at composing and songwriting."

"You're going into music?" Maggie was surprised. "If Kevin found out, he'd be thrilled."

Sebastian had always possessed musical talent, but in his youth, he'd resisted it due to Kevin's harsh pressure. Maggie, however, remembered how beautifully he sang, often writing his own lyrics and composing music. Even though Kevin often criticized it harshly, she had always found it enjoyable.

Nathaniel watched them chat happily, his expression darkening. His intense gaze remained fixed on Maggie, waiting for her to acknowledge his presence.

Maggie and Sebastian talked for a while, but Maggie eventually felt a chill. She turned and met Nathaniel's dark, unfathomable eyes. Her heart sank with dread.

Oh no! This is bad! She had forgotten all about him!

Maggie quickly stepped forward, smiled at Nathaniel, looped her arm through his, and introduced him to Sebastian. "Sabastian, this is Nathael Harris. He's my boyfriend."

Sebastian followed Maggie's gaze to the man with the stern expression, sharp eyebrows, and piercing eyes. His demeanor radiated authority; his eyes were devoid of emotion, hiding deep secrets.

"Mr. Harris, nice to meet you," Sebastian said, extending his hand.

The two men shook hands. Nathaniel's voice was low and deep. "Mr. Moore has quite a unique way of catching up."

Maggie suddenly remembered the earlier rear-end collision. She sensed Nathaniel's pent-up resentment.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "I happened to be at the amusement park and saw someone from a distance that looked like you."

Maggie felt her face flush. Seen from a distance? When exactly had he seen them? She had shared countless kisses with Nathaniel that night. Had Sebastian witnessed it all? A pang of guilt struck her.

"Mr. Moore has a keen eye," Nathaniel remarked sarcastically. His mood was clearly not good.

Sebastian met Nathaniel's gaze head-on, and the atmosphere grew tense. Maggie tried to withdraw her arm from Nathaniel's embrace, pinching his waist, but his muscles were too firm.

Nathaniel's expression remained unchanged. "For car repairs and compensation, Mr. Moore can contact my secretary," he said. "It's getting late; we won't keep you."

Maggie quickly added, "Sebastian, we can catch up later."

Sebastian nodded and said in a low voice, "Let me know when you break up."

Maggie was stunned. Why would he say that?

Nathaniel's aura turned cold. He glared at Sebastian. "What do you mean by that, Mr. Moore?"

Sebastian maintained his casual demeanor. "I have a friend who wants to pursue Maggie."

Maggie's eyes widened.

Nathaniel chuckled coldly. "You can tell your friend to stop dreaming."

Sebastian remained unfazed. "Thanks for the reminder, but dating or marriage doesn't necessarily stop someone from pursuing Maggie."

Nathaniel's eyes locked with Sebastian's. The tension was palpable.

Maggie quickly pulled Nathaniel's arm and placed herself in front of him. "You can tell your friend that Nathael and I are very happy together," she said to Sebastian. "I won't accept him."

Sebastian shifted his gaze to Maggie. "Is he treating you well?" he asked softly.

Maggie nodded quickly. "Yes, very well."

Sebastian stared at her, attempting to gauge the truth, until Nathaniel stepped forward, blocking his view.

Sebastian said meaningfully, "It looks like Mr. Harris got what you wanted." He stared at Nathaniel, his smile not reaching his eyes. "If you hurt Maggie, I'll knock your teeth out."

Nathaniel scoffed. "Do you even have the qualifications to say that, Mr. Moore?"

Maggie felt overwhelmed.

Sebastian looked at Maggie. "Maggie, go back to the car. I need to have a few words with Mr. Harris."

Maggie glanced at Nathaniel, who nodded gently. "Go ahead; it's cold out here."

She headed towards the car, glancing back several times.

After Maggie left, Sebastian looked at Nathaniel, his demeanor relaxed, but his words sharp. "Mr. Harris, you've done a great job keeping me stuck abroad for years. Guess you got what you wanted."

Nathaniel smirked. "Everyone has to pay for their youthful indiscretions. You crossed a line."
