Chapter 372: Open Struggle, Hidden Schemes

"Help you remove Ronald's arm?" Timothy pondered before speaking.

Maggie remained silent. Then, she complained, "Is this what you call helping?" Sheโ€™d fallen for his trick.

After a lengthy discussion, the group reached no conclusions. The Camerons' decline was inevitable; it was merely a matter of time. Maggie fell silent as Timothy offered his suggestions. He seemed to possess a rebellious streak, inexplicably thrilled by violence.

Leo calmly suggested an inconsequential idea: "Let's find Olivia an extramarital affair."

Timothy's eyes brightened. "Good idea. Ronald might be driven to death by this mother-son trio."

Maggie considered this. "It would be better if this person also had abilities."

Leo, clearly knowledgeable about the Camerons, responded calmly, "I know a candidate. He was with Olivia, but she dumped him due to his family's poverty. Now he's doing well and seems skilled."

"Who?"

(The following text appears to be a continuation, but there is a significant break in the narrative. It's possible this is a continuation from a previous chapter or a mis-ordering of the text.)

He handed it to Maggie. She glanced at the information. Wilson lacked an impressive background, but he'd made a name for himself. Though not from a prestigious family, he'd achieved considerable wealth and status. Most importantly, Olivia had dumped him. His past love turned to resentment; he later married, and though his wife died years ago, their marriage seemed affectionate. He seemed a suitable candidate.

"We don't know if Mr. Zamora would be willing. We can't force him. Shall we arrange a casual meeting?" Maggie suggested.

Leo nodded. "Let's find an opportunity for them to meet. We'll know after trying."

The group's discussion became increasingly absurd, yet the atmosphere remained surprisingly lighthearted.

Soon, the medicine was ready. Maggie drank a pouch directly. The strong bitterness hit her throat, its heavy texture almost inducing vomiting. It wasn't unbearable, but purely a physiological reaction. After one pouch, she felt terrible, tears welling in her eyes. The despair of having to drink this twice daily, every day, was overwhelming. Timothy smirked at her hopeless expression. "You'll getโ€ฆ"

Maggie looked at him with unusual sympathy. The Hudsons were renowned alternative medicine practitioners; it was easy to imagine how heโ€™d maintained his health.

Timothy raised an eyebrow, a faint flush appearing on his pale face. "What's with that look? It's as if you've just eaten sh*t."

Maggie was speechless.

As the group left, Maggie still tasted the bitterness, affecting her mood. Sierra arrived at the hotel lobby, masked and capped. On the lobby TV, Maggie's piano piece played. Sierra's gaze was fierce.

Why was she treated like an outcast while Maggie thrived and received praise? The internet worshipped Maggie, while Sierra had lost all dignity. How long would this last?

Soon, a thug-like man approached. "Ms. Cameron?" His chestnut-brown hair couldn't disguise his acne-scarred, dark complexion. "Where's the stuff?" Sierra asked bluntly.

After receiving it, Sierra gave him cash. He whistled, scrutinizing her. "Why do you look like that recently famous Sierra?"

His gaze embarrassed her. Sierra's face turned cold. "Get lost!"

He whistled, smirked, and left. Sierra seethed. Ronald, insistent on marrying her off, had found a local man whose circumstances were worse than the Zimmers. He was a man in his fifties who'd lost two wives mysteriously. His family, though not prestigious, was suddenly wealthy. His wealth might not last, but he had money now. He didn't mind her scandals. He offered a price Ronald reluctantly acceptedโ€”less than the Zimmers offered, but Ronald had little choice.

The thought chilled Sierra. Her mother had helped her escape home. But with her grandfather implicated, she had nowhere to go.

After waiting, a tall, muscular, mixed-race man approached. He exchanged a passphrase with Sierra before sitting. He looked fierce and spoke only in a foreign language, but Sierra, having studied abroad, could understand. "Ms. Cameron, what do you need?"

"I want her eyes gouged out and her face disfigured! I've prepared something for her, too. Make sure she consumes it."

Sierra gave him a key and a card. "This is the remaining deposit. The other half is paid upon completion." 750,000โ€”all Sierra could manage, with Olivia's discreet help. Olivia had money, but she feared alarming Ronald. She'd also consulted Joseph.

The man took Maggie's photo and nodded. "Okay."

Sierra asked, "Can I be there?"

He pondered. "Possible, but an extra 300,000. We need to ensure your safety."

Sierra agreed. "Fine. I'll pay on the day."

The man left. Sierra's eyes sparkled.

Soon! Maggie would soon be in the same situation, even worse. Sierra wanted to see if Maggie would remain proud. Sierra smiled. Sheโ€™d make Maggie suffer daily, wish for death, and never dare be arrogant again! If Sierra was a rat in the mud, Maggie would be lower.
