Chapter 362 Awards Ceremony

Maggie didnโ€™t dwell on that topic anymore. Instead, she lightly scratched his palm.

Nathael then suggested, โ€œLater, pack your things and move in with me. I want to keep you close. Sierraโ€™s not very smart, but sheโ€™s cruel and doesnโ€™t understand the harsh realities of the world. Itโ€™s better to be careful.โ€

Hearing this, Maggie couldnโ€™t help but sigh. Nathael was a good judge of character. Sierraโ€™s true nature took her decades to see, while Nathael could see it easily. Could it be that in a past life, he had reminded her countless times, but she chose to ignore it?

โ€œThen, Mr. Harris, if you head to the company, where should I go?โ€ Maggie inquired.

โ€œYouโ€™ll come with me to the office. Thereโ€™s a lounge where you can relax,โ€ Nathael explained warmly.

Maggie blinked and remarked, โ€œSounds like a canary locked in a golden cage.โ€

โ€œYou can see it that way if you want.โ€ Nathael chuckled.

Maggie stayed quiet, thinking things might get complicated.

The competition was ending, and it was less than a week until her promised time with Timmothy. He had been especially quiet and hadnโ€™t bothered her during this time. But obviously, if she didnโ€™t keep her promise, he wouldnโ€™t let it slide. Maggie sighed lightly. Also, Master Harris had already contacted her. Once the competition ended, Iris would start treating her. But if she stayed under Nathaelโ€™s watchful eye, she might be caught.

Thinking about it made Maggie feel unhappy and overwhelmed.

Maggie felt like everything was happening at once. Dealing with the Camerons couldnโ€™t wait. They were resilient: she couldnโ€™t give them a chance and had to crush them completely.

Time with Nathael couldnโ€™t wait either. She only had this month to fight for. There might not be a future after this.

Getting treated and detoxified by Iris couldnโ€™t wait either. She wanted to live longer. If she could, many things might still be possibleโ€ฆ

Maggie sat lost in thought for a long time.

Finally, she decided to move in with Nathael first, but she needed to find excuses to get out of the house and see Iris.

As for the Camerons, she didnโ€™t want to delay anymore. But if Ronald didnโ€™t intend to break ties, she would maintain the status quo for now.

Maggie thought about many things and unknowingly fell asleep leaning against the back of the chair.

Nathael draped his suit jacket over her, his deep eyes swirling with thoughts.

At that moment, Vanessa was also there. She was also a student at a top academy, so getting a ticket was easy.

She wasnโ€™t originally interested, but she wanted to watch the competition because of Maggie. She didnโ€™t think Maggie could win, but now that she knew she was Kevinโ€™s student, she felt complicated emotions.

Because of Josephโ€™s injury, their engagement had been postponed. The Camerons gave her a medicine, promising that if she could add it to Fionaโ€™s food, they would agree to her and Josephโ€™s marriage.

However, now she had encountered Maggieโ€™s boyfriend, Nathael, met Ericko from the Adams, and observed the wealthy who frequented the Adams. Suddenly, she didnโ€™t find the Camerons that fascinating anymore.

As for her feelings towards Joseph?

She used to fancy him, especially since she had never had such an attractive and wealthy boyfriend before.

Regrettably, Joseph was a flirt and a player. Ironically, he didnโ€™t value Maggie when they were together, but after they broke up, he couldnโ€™t get her off his mind.

Vanessa suddenly realized that she didnโ€™t necessarily have to marry into the Camerons. Just getting some money from them wouldnโ€™t be too bad either.

As long as she could secure a large sum of money, she could be like Maggie and mingle with a higher class of people. She could present herself better and surely find a superior man to be her husband.

Itโ€™s just that Maggieโ€™s fortune was exceptionally good, which made her enviousโ€ฆ

More than an hour later, Nathael gently pinched Maggieโ€™s hand. โ€œThe awards ceremony is starting soon. If you keep sleeping, youโ€™ll miss it.โ€

Maggie hesitated for a moment, feeling a bit disoriented.

As she opened her eyes, she saw Nathael, Mia, and Joyce smiling at her.

Mia couldnโ€™t resist teasing, โ€œWhat were you up to last night? You look so tired.โ€

Maggie provocatively glanced at her, stood up, and handed the coat back to Nathael. โ€œJust enjoying myself!โ€

Mia chuckled at her demeanor. โ€œLook at you!โ€

Sensing Nathaelโ€™s gaze, Mia quickly added, โ€œBut Mr. Harris is definitely worth the lack of sleep,โ€

Before she could go far, she overheard Mia eagerly chatting with Nathael. โ€œMr. Harris, when youโ€™re free, please give my dad a call and ask him to increase my allowances.โ€

Joyce couldnโ€™t help but shake her head. โ€œYouโ€™re already getting 750 thousand a month, which is equivalent to a rich ladyโ€™s income. How much more do you need?โ€

โ€œWho would say no to more money, right? Mr. Harris, I have some of Maggieโ€™s private photos. Want to see?โ€ Mia asked Nathael enthusiastically, as if her livelihood depended on him.

โ€œDeal.โ€ Nathaelโ€™s response was swift.

Mia quickly whipped out her phone and started searching for photos.

Meanwhile, Maggie, completely unaware of being sold off, lifted her skirt and stepped onto the stage. The final dozen contestants were all standing there.

Due to the sudden rule change, it was evident that everyone was feeling a mix of anticipation, excitement, and nervousness about the unknown. With the vote count rule, everyone felt hopeful again.

Even if they didnโ€™t clinch the championship, getting a ranking or some other award would still be nice.

Previously, awards like Best Newcomer, Best Composer, and Best Performer were chosen by the judges.

But now, the competition organizer directly linked awards with rankings based on their value.

Aside from the top three prizes, other awards were determined by rankings.

โ€œThe real-time vote count was cut off three minutes ago. Now, Iโ€™ll announce the top ten finalists of this competitionโ€ฆโ€

The host held the list and, with everyoneโ€™s anticipation, began to announce, โ€œIsla Cordova, Adrian Coffey, Leonie Websterโ€ฆโ€

โ€œTop ten finalists, please stay on stage, and the rest of the contestants may step down.โ€

After the announcement, those not called felt disappointed as they stepped down because making it to the top ten would at least earn them an excellence award.

Unfortunately, they fell just a bit short and didnโ€™t receive anything.
