Chapter 104
Maurice had always felt incapable, especially since Severin's imprisonment. He pitied his beloved wife, Judith, who suffered alongside him.
Seeing Judith beaten ignited his anger. He resolved to fight, risking his life rather than passively endure their abuse.
Jada, face covered, stared at Maurice in a daze. "Howhow dare you slap me?"
"Maurice! What are you doing? Get down and apologize!" Judith, terrified, pulled on his hand.
"Not a chance. I only kneel to my parents. Why should I kneel to them? They're bullying us! It's their fault!" Maurice shouted, eyes reddening. "I'll fight them, even if it breaks every bone in my body!"
A bodyguard stepped forward, raising his leg to kick Maurice. "You're dead meat the moment you touched our young miss!"
"You're the one who's dead meat!" A gray light flashed. A stone, thrown with force, struck the bodyguard's thigh.
"Agh!" The bodyguard crumpled in pain.
Severin arrived at the door to see his mother forced to kneel, a bodyguard poised to kick his father. Rage coursed through him; he'd thrown the stone to punish the bodyguard.
Diane, carrying Selene, rushed over, followed by Severin. Diane put Selene down and helped Judith to her feet.
"It's the woman from the restaurant yesterday!" Judith looked at Severin, distraught. "Severin! When did you return? They're powerful! What do we do? They ignored Mister Henry's name; asking for his help is useless. What now?"
Severin's expression softened. "Don't worry, Mom. I'll handle them. We don't need anyone else."
"But how?" Judith remained worried. They couldn't afford to antagonize such an influential family.
"Hehe, being nice won't work. Look what happened to you both. Do they have an ounce of humanity after assaulting two elderly people?"
Severin turned, his gaze murderous. "Which one of you slapped my mother?"
Jada recoiled. Remembering the previous night, she feared Severin's temper. She retreated to the bodyguard, boasting, "I did! So what? Let's see if you escape your fate today!"
Prunella glared at Severin. "You're Severin? The b*stard! You came back at the perfect time! Time for revenge for my son!"
Severin frowned. "Your son?"
Cecil glared, gritting his teeth. "Our son, Patrick! I'll cripple you. Both your legs will be broken while your wife and parents kneel and beg for mercy!"
