Chapter 27
"What! Did Master Blade actually?" Many of Blade's subordinates were dumbfounded to see Blade stagger backward.
Blade was renowned for his swordsmanship, but even his punch was difficult for anyone to block. It was therefore all the more surprising that Severin took the blow head-on.
"Let's attack that kid together!"
"Yeah, why don't we all hack him to death!"
Blade's subordinates raised their machetes and glared at Severin. They undoubtedly possessed considerable combat skills. Blade frowned, staring intently at the ring on Severin's hand. The ring belonged to someone they should revere; it never occurred to them that Severin would be wearing it.
He smiled coldly and said to his subordinates, "I know what I'm doing. It's not yet time for you to act!"
At that moment, Blade wanted to withdraw his men. The person before him might be their superior, someone even their commander would kneel before. After all, the wearer of the Dracodeus Ring was the leader of the Dracodeus Temple—a superior to their superior!
However, retreating would make them appear cowardly, and they couldn't afford such embarrassment.
For the first time in his life, Blade felt he was treading on thin ice. The Dracodeus Temple had twelve halls, each named after an animal from the Chinese zodiac.
Besides Draco Hall, there was Mus Hall, Equus Hall, and so on. However, each hall was located in a different place and operated autonomously.
It never occurred to them that the temple head had actually come to Brookbourn.
"Blade, this" When Trevor noticed Blade had stopped attacking and was standing still, he frowned and sought an explanation.
Blade wore a gloomy expression, his brows furrowed. At that moment, Henry arrived from downstairs with his daughter, Charmaine, and several Longhorns bodyguards. "I wonder what's brewing here?" After a quick glance, Henry smiled. "My, there are plenty of people here. Catherine, and even Draco Hall's people! Is something interesting going on? I was startled by the commotion downstairs!"
Trevor immediately flattered him. "Oh, you jest, Mr. Henry. You've surely seen more chaotic moments. A little fight like this couldn't scare you! By the way, what brings you to the hotel today?"
Henry smiled. "Me? I'm treating a friend to dinner. Imagine my surprise reaching the hotel and finding it surrounded by Draco Hall! I only came up out of curiosity!"
Seeing Henry's arrival, Denzel was overjoyed and immediately explained the situation. After listening carefully, Henry smiled faintly and said to Blade, "Severin here is my friend. You may not have shown Denzel much courtesy, but I'm sure you'll indulge me a little, right?"
Blade had been searching for an excuse to retreat, and Henry's words were perfectly timed. Furthermore, the Longhorns were a top-tier family; even those from Draco Hall would avoid provoking them. He immediately cupped his hands respectfully. "I see. Things are much clearer now that he's your friend."
He waved his hand at his men. "Let's go. We're leaving!" Blade swiftly led his men away.
"Mr. Henry, t-t-t-this" Trevor was at a loss, utterly perplexed by the sudden turn of events.
Henry smiled. "Is that so difficult to understand? Severin is my guest today!" He walked away from Trevor and approached Severin with a smile. "Are you alright, Severin?" "Fine! Thank you for that!" Severin replied.
