Chapter 62

Norman’s mother urged him anxiously.

Judith and Maurice were terrified at the sight of the bodyguards. They had never seen such a formidable and intimidating group before. However, the next second, the woman slapped Norman hard.

“Sir, may I ask your name?” The rich woman smiled awkwardly and asked in a groveling tone, much to Norman’s surprise.

“Severin Feuillet!” Severin offered a faint smile.

“Apologize to this gentleman, Norman!” The rich woman immediately turned and demanded her son apologize.

“But Mom…are you sure?” Norman couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Instead of helping him, his mother was demanding he apologize! “Yes! Hurry up!” she rebuked sternly.

“Okay, I’m sorry! It was my fault. I hope you won’t hold this against me, Mr. Feuillet!” Although resentful, Norman knew he’d offended someone he couldn’t afford to antagonize.

“You may leave now. I’ll count to ten. Get out of this restaurant, and bring your men with you. Don’t let me see any of you again. If I see even a shadow of you after I count to ten, not even the gods will save you!” Severin threatened in a deep voice. He’d barely begun counting when the others turned and fled.

After leaving the restaurant, Norman asked his mother, “What was that about, Mom? Why did you slap me and make me apologize?”

“He may seem unassuming, but he’s someone you don’t want to offend. He has a bank card issued only to those with at least one and a half billion dollars. Money isn’t the main point, though. Only ten of these cards exist worldwide, and he has one!”

The rich woman sighed. “I doubt even some of the top-tier families would dare provoke him. We’re far less important, so we must be even more careful. Even a first-tier family might not qualify for that card. Do you understand now?”

“But how? I can’t believe he’s that powerful!”

Norman gulped, wiping cold sweat from his forehead. He knew he’d made a terrible mistake.

Judith gazed at the departing cars, a puzzled expression on her face. “That woman seemed furious, but I don’t understand why she slapped her son and made him apologize to you. That rich woman left as quickly as she arrived!”

Diane frowned, equally bewildered. She had been terrified something bad would happen to them. The woman’s sudden apology and departure was a complete surprise.

Severin seemed slightly dazed. He chuckled and said, “Oh, hehe, she bumped into me this morning while I was talking to Mr. Henry in the park. I suppose she knows who I am and that I’m Mr. Henry’s friend. Since she can’t afford to offend Mr. Henry, she probably decided it was best to leave with her son!”

“I see. She was only doing it for Mr. Henry’s sake!” Judith breathed a sigh of relief.

“Yeah. Relax and enjoy your meal! Everything’s fine!” Severin smiled, piling more food onto his parents’ plates.

“F*ck this. I can’t believe we ran into Severin again!”

Jada had brought Easton and the others to the same restaurant. Easton had just stepped out of the car when he saw Severin’s family at a window table. His earlier improved mood instantly soured at the sight of them happily enjoying their meal.
