Chapter 67

"Scammers? How dare you call us scammers just because you can't afford to pay for your meals?" the manager sneered. "It's not a scam when we've clearly displayed the prices on our menu."

"Oh, really? Could you bring over the menu we looked at earlier, then?" Severin asked with a cold smile.

"Right! That wasn't the price displayed on the menu we saw earlier!" Judith immediately remarked.

"Go and get the menu," the manager told the waiter. "These people won't accept the truth until they see it for themselves!"

The waiter quickly brought over a menu with prices drastically different from before—almost a tenfold increase!

"This isn't the same menu we were given earlier. This one's brand new; the other was aged," Diane said, her expression hardening. The hastily produced menu was clearly a deliberate deception.

The manager simply smiled coldly. "This is our restaurant's menu. We can't help it if you can't afford it. Your total is one hundred and sixty thousand; please pay up!"

"My foot! We're not entertaining scammers. We're leaving!" Severin said coldly.

"They're trying to leave without paying! Tell those thugs behind the restaurant to come in here!" The manager shouted to another waiter, a cold smile on his face. "This is getting interesting!" Severin realized they were targeted. He was curious, however, about the restaurant owner and the reason for this attack.

Soon, over a dozen thugs, clearly part of the establishment's protection, burst in. They were a gang, some with red or green hair, others with shoulder tattoos—unsavory characters.

"You've got guts coming here knowing you can't pay!" sneered a man with gold teeth.

"Pay up, or we'll break your arms," threatened another, brandishing a steel pipe.

"Pfft. As if," Severin scoffed, stepping in front of his family and gesturing condescendingly. "Come on, then."

"You'll learn your lesson!" The gold-toothed leader, brandishing a kitchen knife, lunged at Severin's throat, clearly intending to kill him.

Diane hugged Selene, anxiously watching from several meters away. Having seen Severin's skills before, she had confidence in his ability to handle these thugs.

Severin easily dodged the attacks, landing powerful blows that sent the thugs sprawling. Each punch generated a gust of wind, and over a dozen collapsed.
