Chapter 80
Severin ran to the side, saying smugly, "It was on purpose! Come on, hit me then!"
Diane gritted her teeth, stood up, and rushed toward him, angrily exclaiming, "Severin!" She intended to pinch him.
"Wait! Does it still hurt?" Severin asked, seeing her approach.
"You're right, it doesn't hurt anymore!" Diane froze. Despite her earlier inability to walk, she'd managed to run a few steps without pain.
"What do you think? You know how amazing I am now, don't you? Hehe, would you have run over if I hadn't provoked you? Probably not, right?" Severin remarked proudly. Diane walked a few more steps, then conceded, "You've got skill, I'll give you that!"
"Told you I'm a miracle doctor. Why wouldn't a miracle doctor have amazing skills?" Severin smiled, then looked at her earnestly. "By the way, you always call me Severin. Why not 'honey' for once?"
"Nope! Not happening!" Diane feigned anger. "Hmph. You're the reason I was kicked out of the Shanahans and suffered for years. I haven't forgiven you yet. No way I'm calling you 'honey'!"
Severin sighed. "It's fine. You'll call me 'honey' sooner or later." He spoke seriously.
"Oh? Show me then!" Diane folded her arms, adopting the cold, condescending look typical of female presidents.
"I'll head back to my room to sleep. You should rest early too."
After considering, Severin added, "But if you're afraid of the dark, I can keep you company." [Remove the promotional text here]
"Go away! Keep dreaming!" Diane rolled her eyes.
Severin smiled, produced a small bottle of ointment, and said, "Sit down. I'll apply some to your ankle. Even though I've popped your bones back, the surrounding muscles are still a little damaged."
"Okay!" Diane sat on the bed as Severin squatted, carefully pouring some ointment onto his hand before rubbing it on her ankle.
Watching him lower his head and carefully apply the ointment, Diane felt a faint warmth in her heart. She admired his profile, glad he'd shown responsibility instead of being a "scumbag." Severin's tone hinted that he'd been tricked by Easton into signing an agreement to sell his fiancée.
After applying the ointment, Diane smiled. "Thank you. You should get some rest!"
Severin stood, stretching. "You're my wife. No need to thank me. I'm the reason you suffered for five years, yet you still helped my parents. You're a good woman, and I won't let you down again! Mark my words, I'll give you a wedding that will make everyone jealous!"
Diane, touched, smiled wryly. "Would it kill you not to brag so much? Go to bed! I'm happy enough with this big house!"
"But that's not enough, honey. Barely enough. Like I said, I'm not bragging!" Severin looked intently at her. "I want everyone to know you made the right choice choosing me!"
