Chapter 52

Rebecca understood that learning was tiring, but every time she took a break and remembered her supportive family, all her tiredness seemed insignificant. Day after day, Rebecca trained diligently, only pausing when the children cried or fussed, taking them from the nanny or Debra to feed and soothe them.

Charlie initially stayed with Rebecca every day, but later took a job requiring him to leave for filming. Before he left, however, he specifically asked Rebecca's agent to take good care of her. His intention was for his sister to learn just enough to get by. However, Rebecca didn't want to be half-hearted. Having lived through tough times, she understood how precious days with her family's support were, and she knew their resources were unique and not to be wasted. She proactively asked her agent to be strict. Rebecca wasn't afraid of hardship or exhaustion; she just wanted to do her best.

Rebecca's agent, Lynn Fox, was a renowned top agent in her forties who had previously managed an award-winning actress, a top actor, and two well-known young actresses. Given her status, she typically wouldn't take on new talents, especially those without acting experience. The only reason she agreed to manage Rebecca at the L&K Group was because she owed Charlie a favor. Lynn initially planned to manage Rebecca casually for a few years, but after a few days of training, she changed her mind. Rebecca was genuinely gifted, picking things up quickly. Lynn had worked with many artists, but few possessed such natural talent. Most importantly, Rebecca's proactive request for strict training and willingness to endure hardship impressed Lynn.

A month passed quickly. The Carter family's jewelry store in Maeloria was renovated and ready to open. Rebecca's father, concerned she might not know how to manage things, insisted she pause her training to learn.

Rebecca couldn't refuse her father, so she politely asked Lynn for a day off, which Lynn readily granted. Rebecca had trained continuously for a month without complaint, working diligently—more dedicated than most artists. She spent the entire day learning with her father, diligently writing notes and locking them away in the evening.

With the grand opening of Carter's Jewel's branch approaching, Rebecca informed Lynn that she was the brand's spokesperson. Lynn was shocked; it was nearly impossible for a newcomer to secure such a role. She immediately suspected Charlie's involvement, asking, "Is there a contract? Can I see it?" After all, she was now Rebecca's—or rather, Becky's—agent (Rebecca's real name; Charlie had chosen "Becky" as her stage name).

Rebecca produced the contract. Lynn began reviewing it, aware that contracts between artists and brands often contained unfair terms that less famous artists might overlook. Soon, however, she was stunned. "Isn't Becky…getting a little too much from this contract? Even if Charlie himself endorsed Carter's Jewel, it would be hard to get such a contract, right?"

Rebecca, noticing Lynn's reaction, asked, "Lynn? Is there something wrong with the contract?" Lynn vigorously shook her head. "No. No problem at all." The Carter family's generosity seemed unreal to her.

The next moment, Lynn asked seriously, "Carter's Jewel's branch is opening soon. Have you prepared a dress?" Rebecca shook her head; she'd been too busy. Lynn took a deep breath. "It's okay. I'll arrange it for you. Just rest for the next few days and get yourself ready. I'll let you know on the day of the opening."

They hadn't told Lynn that Rebecca was the heiress; it wasn't a lack of trust, but rather a desire to avoid complications until Rebecca obtained her divorce papers.

Over at Evergrande Entertainment, Lisa excitedly entered Janet's dressing room with an invitation to Carter's Jewel's branch opening. Janet was thrilled. Lisa whispered, "Janet, I just heard that Carter's Jewel might be looking for a spokesperson."

Janet asked excitedly if they'd decided on someone. Lisa wasn't sure. Janet asked if Carter's Jewel had held any spokesperson interviews recently. Lisa was confident they hadn't; their company monitored such things closely. Janet suggested they might not have chosen anyone yet. Lisa agreed.

Looking at the invitation, Lisa excitedly said, "Janet, you should dress up nicely for the opening ceremony and wear more of Carter's Jewel's jewelry. Maybe the Carter family will see how good you look in their products and make you their spokesperson."
