Cedric shaved Leroy's head in imitation, his face full of disdain. “Let’s go,” Scarlett said calmly, though her tone held an edge of finality. She glanced at Leroy’s disheveled appearance, her expression unreadable, before letting out a quiet sigh. Zoe hurried to Leroy’s side, clearly alarmed. “Leroy, are you okay?” she asked, her voice tinged with worry. The restaurant manager finally snapped out of his daze and approached them. “Do you two need any assistance?” he asked, glancing nervously between Leroy and the departing couple. Leroy shook his head. “We’re fine. Let’s go,” he said, his tone weary. He nodded at Zoe, signaling her to follow, and the two of them left the restaurant. Once outside, Zoe huffed in frustration. “Leroy, why did you let him get away with that?” she demanded, clenching her fists. “This was all their fault.” Leroy gave a faint smile but shook his head. “Stopping him would have done more harm than good,” he said. “Scarlett’s a member of this place’s loyalty program. If the manager had to choose sides, we would have been at a disadvantage.” “So what? Just because she’s a member doesn’t mean she’s untouchable. Even Scarlett’s company wouldn’t stand a…” Zoe crossed her arms, clearly unconvinced. “So what? Just by chance my dad stepped in…” Leroy chuckled softly but refused to engage further. “I’m happy at the hospital,” he said simply, sidestepping her suggestion. Zoe looked at him with mild exasperation but let it go. She knew she couldn’t force things. “Let’s go! I still gotta treat you to dinner tonight.” Leroy smiled and gestured for her to lead the way. With a gleam in her eye, Zoe didn’t hesitate. “Come on! Let’s go.” Instead of another high-end restaurant, Leroy led Zoe to a small, bustling barbecue stand nestled in a quiet neighborhood. “Really, Leroy?” Zoe teased as they sat down. “Is this where you’re bringing me for dinner?” She wasn’t unhappy with Leroy’s choice of location for dinner. Leroy grinned. “This place is great. I come here all the time. The food’s amazing, and it’s close to home,” he explained as he began to place their order. Zoe gave him a curious look and thought, “So this is where he lives.” “Leroy,” she said after a moment, “if Scarlett ever shows up again, just let me know. I’ll handle her for you.” Leroy couldn’t help but laugh. He then said, “You’re supposed to be a doctor who saves lives, not someone who picks fights.” She pouted. “Hey, I’m just looking out for you,” she said indignantly. “People like that need to be taught a lesson.” Her frustration was palpable, and Leroy could only sigh in response. He opened his mouth to reply but froze when two figures suddenly appeared nearby, moving quickly toward them. “Is something wrong?” Zoe asked, noticing Leroy’s expression shift. Leroy blinked, then shook his head. “It’s nothing. Probably just my imagination,” he said lightly, though his eyes remained cautious. “Who is it? Is it that guy again?” she asked, her voice already laced with irritation. She turned fully around, only to find herself face-to-face with Olivia, who was smiling warmly as she approached. “I knew I’d find you here! So that’s why you didn’t come home for dinner!” Olivia said cheerfully.
