Chapter 103
"How did you know Marco's at the east port?" Marlon asked, shocked.
The east port was Oakhaven's largest.
"Before arriving, the Carters informed me," Gilmore replied. "Wallace sent someone to arrest Marco. He's in a warehouse owned by the Palmer family's foreign trade company at the east port."
Marlon understood why Gilmore knew he was hiding in a suburban villa and that the Palmers wanted him silenced. Gilmore must have learned this from the Carters, who were the only ones with access to such information from the Palmers. He didn't doubt Gilmore's words in the slightest.
"Gilmore, thank you. I'm going there now," Marlon said.
Gilmore stopped him. "Wait. Marco's in Warehouse B2. Tonight, a 2,300-pound cargo ship belonging to the Palmer family's foreign trade company departs. If nothing unexpected happens, Wallace will visit the warehouse, and Marco will be secretly moved to the ship."
Marlon nodded seriously. "Noted, Mr. Reed."
He left the villa, followed by Gilmore. Four cars were parked outside: Gilmore's Mercedes and three driven by Thomas and the Palmer family's experts. The trunks of Thomas's cars were open, revealing cans of gasoline.
Marlon frowned. Gilmore was right; Thomas and the Palmer experts planned to burn the villa and destroy evidence after killing them. Since Thomas and the experts were dead, Marlon decided to burn the villa and their bodies, eliminating any evidence. He grabbed gasoline cans, doused the corpses, ignited a lighter, and tossed it inside.
Crash!
Flames engulfed the bodies, turning the living room into a firestorm.
"See you next time," Marlon said to Gilmore.
"See you later," Gilmore replied.
Marlon entered Thomas's car and drove away. Gilmore followed in his Mercedes. He reached the Palazzo at 10:00 p.m.
Chapter 103
Gilmore parked and entered. His bedroom was on the second floor. Passing his sister Everly's room, he heard her and Claire talking and laughing. He didn't knock but entered his room, closed the door, and sat on the sofa. Having dealt with Marlon, he no longer needed to handle Wallace himself. This reminded him that Marlon should have reached the east port by now. Had he rescued Marco and taken revenge on Wallace?
Gilmore's pupils constricted as he activated his God's Eye. The east port, Oakhaven's largest, appeared before him. Despite the quieter nighttime activity, he saw people working on ships and in cars. Many goods were piled in Warehouse B2, the Palmer family's warehouse. They were packed in rectangular wooden boxes for overseas shipment.
Wallace was in the warehouse office, smoking a cigar. He was with a middle-aged man in a suit and several bodyguards. Marco, hands and feet bound, mouth taped, lay on the floor, panicked. He'd been taken from a bar.
Wallace didn't look at him but addressed the middle-aged man, "Adrian, ensure the Greendale delivery goes smoothly tonight."
Adrian, the warehouse manager, replied, "Don't worry, Mr. Palmer. The goods will be loaded at 11:00, and we'll set sail at 12:00 sharp."
Wallace nodded. "Put him in a box with the goods. Throw him overboard at sea," he said, looking at Marco.
"Yes, Mr. Palmer," Adrian replied.

"Okay, you can go back to work!" Wallace dismissed Adrian.
Marco, hearing he would be crated and thrown into the sea, paled, sweating profusely and making indistinct noises. He wanted to ask why Wallace wanted him dead but couldn't speak.
Wallace smiled. "Don't worry. Your enemy, Gilmore, is dead. You can rest in peace."
Marco's eyes widened in anger. He struggled, but Wallace ignored him. "Put him in the box and secure the lid," he instructed the bodyguards.
A rectangular box sat on the floor. The bodyguards placed Marco inside despite his struggles. Wallace turned in his chair, took out his phone, and called Thomas, continuing to smoke.
"Sorry, the number you dialed is unavailable," a recorded voice said.
Wallace frowned. Something was wrong. Thomas was supposed to silence Marlon and Gilmore. Could something have happened to him and the experts? It seemed unlikely. Thomas had ten external force martialists. How could he lose to Marlon?
Just then, the bodyguards fell, groaning. Wallace swiveled to see a masked old man in gray. His bodyguards were unconscious.
"Marlon Salazar!" Wallace cried in horror.
