Chapter 125

After hearing her father's story, Helene was flushed with disbelief. She never would have guessed that Clinton's ruthlessness was responsible for her father's coma. After the incident, she noticed a red spot on her father's forehead. Clinton claimed Graham had hit his head on the desk when he fainted, but Helene was unaware of the truth. Following this, Clinton accused Helene of disobedience, and the family ostracized her. He even bribed Horizon Group executives to remove her as Vice President. Feeling unfairly treated, Helene blamed herself for her father's coma, filled with remorse. Only now did she realize Clinton's scheming was responsible.

In contrast to Helene's astonishment, Gilmore remained calm, already knowing the cause of Graham's coma thanks to his "God's Eye." This is why he rescued Helene, brought her to the hospital, and saved Graham. Only by saving Graham could the truth be revealed, and Clinton's downfall ensured.

Eyes burning with hatred, Helene told her father, "When you fainted, Clinton blamed me and conspired with the family to oust me." She then recounted Clinton's actions.

Hearing this, Graham was furious. "What a heartless monster! He was abandoned as a child, and your mother and I took him in out of pity. I intended to groom him as my successor, but he accomplished nothing worthwhile, instead squandering his life on women and pleasure. He's a complete playboy. That's why I chose you. I never expected that bastard to use such underhanded tactics to seize control of the family and company, even kicking you out! Since I'm not dead, I won't let him harm my family and company."

"Dad, Clinton's scheduled to be promoted to chairman in three days. He wants complete control," Helene said gravely.

"He's aiming for chairman?" Graham sneered. "I'll reduce him to nothing, today." Helene was shocked. "Dad, you mean"

"Contact the company's ten major shareholders. Call your Uncles Brown, Green, White, and Jackson to meet in the company's conference room at noon. Tell them it's my idea." Graham's instructions were calm and commanding.

Helene was ecstatic but concerned. "Dad, you just woke up. Attending the meeting could be harmful."

"Don't worry, Helene. I'll be fine. Besides, I won't let Clinton cause more harm," Graham said firmly, clenching his fists.

Helene nodded. "I'll call them now." She immediately began making calls.

Meanwhile, at the Field family villa, Clinton sat on the sofa, furious. He yelled at Clive and his bodyguards, "You've failed me! You lost track of Gilmore, and he rescued Helene and Murdoch!" Helene's escape with the shareholders' agreement enraged him most. With that document, she would be a Horizon Group shareholder, owning 10%—the same as him. If she presented it at the meeting, the outcome would be unpredictable. He could control the bribed executives, but the major shareholders, especially the ten longest-serving ones, were harder to manipulate.

"We'll find them, Mr. Field," Clive said apologetically.

"No need," Clinton said. "Send bodyguards from the villa. The meeting is at noon. Intercept Helene; prevent her from attending." His eyes flashed coldly.

"Yes, Mr. Field."

"But Mr. Field, wasn't the meeting in three days?" Clive asked.

Clinton smiled. "Helene believes that. I'll catch her off guard. By the time she realizes, I'll be chairman. I wonder what she'll do then."

Clive complimented Clinton's resourcefulness. "Send people to find Gilmore and Helene. Follow me to the company."

"Yes, sir!" Clive left with the bodyguards. Clinton called Miss Wade: "Contact all major shareholders. The meeting is moved to noon today"

Meanwhile, in the hospital ICU:

"Dad, I've contacted the ten shareholders. They send their best wishes and will attend," Helene said, hanging up.

Graham nodded. Murdoch returned with soup. "Mr. Field, please eat."

"I can eat myself," Graham replied.

Murdoch insisted, and Graham relented, having not eaten properly in over a month. Even plain soup tasted delicious. He couldn't eat rich foods yet, which is why Gilmore had Murdoch buy soup. It took an hour to finish.

"What time is it?" Graham asked Helene.

"11:30 a.m.," Helene checked her phone.

"The meeting's in 30 minutes. Let's go," Graham said calmly.
