Chapter 160
Gilmore, using the God's Eye, learned that Cooper and Dean had hidden bank cards and passwords in deposit boxes at Juniper Insurance. He discovered they had murdered a wealthy family twenty years prior, stolen their possessions, deposited the money in Juliss Bank, and kept the cards in the Juniper Insurance boxes. Cooper and Dean were dead, as were all members of the wealthy family. Therefore, Gilmore could not return the ill-gotten gains to the rightful owners; he would keep the money.
He opened his laptop, accessed the Juliss Bank website, and logged into Cooper's account using the account number and password from Cooper's letter. He found $150 million and transferred it to his own account. Within a minute, he received a confirmation: "You have received $150 million from account ending in 8866, Juliss Bank."
He then logged into Dean's account, discovered another $150 million, and transferred it as well. A second confirmation message followed. Gilmore had effortlessly acquired $300 million. His total now reached $900 million. He destroyed the bank cards and letters. Only he knew of the transfers.
His phone rang. It was Claire.

Chapter 160
"Hello! Claire, what can I do for you?" Gilmore answered.
"Gilmore, important news. Last night, a mysterious man in black killed Emerson," Claire said.
Gilmore feigned shock. "Emerson was murdered? By whom?"
"Nobody knows. The police have no leads. The murderer must be a top martial artist," Claire replied. "Grandpa and I will attend his funeral tomorrow."
"Shall I join you?" Gilmore asked.
"Are you sure you want to come?" Claire questioned.
"Though I don't like the Palmers, Evermore Diner defeated Gastronova. As the winner, I should show magnanimity," Gilmore explained.
"Then let's go to the Palmer family's tomorrow at 10 a.m.," Claire said.
"See you tomorrow!" Gilmore said, hanging up.
His expression turned serious. He hadn't wanted to attend to display magnanimity; the God's Eye had shown him a dangerous scene. Someone planned to kill Claire at the funeral! He had to protect her.
Night
At the Westons' residence, Tobias sipped coffee. A middle-aged man reported, "Sir, Gilmore's an Oakhaven University freshman and founder of Evermore Group, the city's largest food and beverage company. He's partnered with, and apparently involved with, Claire Carter."
Tobias frowned. "No wonder he dared to sleep with my woman! He has the Carters' backing!"
"Shall I have our men teach him a lesson?" the man asked.
"No need!" Tobias said. "Claire will be at Mr. Palmer's funeral. I'll warn her about his infidelity. Once he loses the Carters' support, I'll deal with him slowly."
The man's fear was evident. Those who crossed Tobias rarely lived to regret it.

Chapter 160
Meanwhile, at another Oakhaven villa, a distraught Benjamin confronted a young servant. "What did you say? My grandfather was killed by a masked man in black? Where were Cooper and the guards? Why didn't anyone save him?"
The servant, a Palmer employee, explained, "Last night, Mr. Palmer sent Cooper and Dean to kill Gilmore. But before they could find him, the masked man gravely injured them. They died soon after returning to the manor."
"Are you saying that man killed my grandfather?" Benjamin asked, shocked.
"We don't know if it was the same man, but it's likely," the servant replied.
Benjamin's hatred flared. "It must be Gilmore! He killed my grandfather, Cooper, and the others!"
"But Mr. Gilmore isn't that skilled," the servant protested.
"It was Denton! He wanted Gilmore as his grandson-in-law, so he had my grandfather, Cooper, and the others killed. With them gone, Gilmore is safe," Benjamin declared.
The servant understood. "We must avenge Mr. Palmer and the others!"
Benjamin's eyes burned with cold hatred. It was Denton! Only the Carters had the power to kill his grandfather. The Carters! Gilmore! He would have revenge!
