Chapter 63
Stuart was his biological father. Dave knew the truth. It turned out Gilmore hadn't lied to him. How calculating and malevolent Ian was to ask him to kill Gilmore and rob him!
"Now you must know why Ian let you kill me," Gilmore said.
Dave gnashed his teeth, his eyes flashing with hatred. "He used me to deal with you and rob you of your money. If I'm seriously injured, he'll call the police and arrest me again. In this way, no one could fight him for the property."
"You're smart," Gilmore praised him.
He looked at Dave and his men. "Do you still want to kill me and rob me?"
Dave pulled off his mask and knelt before Gilmore. "Mr. Reed, I'm sorry for offending you. If you hadn't told me the truth, I would have been trapped by Ian and spent the rest of my life in prison. Thank you very much!"
The other four men followed suit. Gilmore didn't expect Dave to be so flexible and sensible. He walked forward to help Dave up. "I know you were used by Ian, so I won't blame you."
Gilmore coughed slightly. "Since he's so malevolent as to devise such an evil plan, if his plan fails today, I'm sure he won't give up."
"He will definitely trap you next time," Dave said.
Dave snorted. "Don't worry, Mr. Reed. I won't give him another chance. He'll be hoisted by his own petard tonight. I will cripple him."
He clasped his hands. "I'll be grateful for your kindness today and repay you someday."
He cupped his hands. "Dave, take care."
"You too." Then Dave strode outside with his four men, ordering them to close the door as they left the villa. He was truly respectful and polite to Gilmore. Gilmore had resolved the crisis effortlessly.
In fact, Gilmore had lied. He didn't know Dave's name or his purpose for coming, as instructed by Ian. It was thanks to his "God's Eye" that he knew everything: Gilmore's conversation with Dave in the Milky Way Hotel parking lot, Stuart's cancer, and Dave's true relationship with Stuart. He fabricated the story of Ian framing Dave to monopolize the family property. The story sounded convincing and reasonable.
But there was another reason why it worked. Gilmore saw, through his "God's Eye," that Ian would scheme against Dave for the property a year later.

So, it was fair to say he'd simply revealed the story in advance. That's why Dave was completely convinced by his words.
At that moment, footsteps came from the stairs. Gilmore looked up. His eyes lit up upon seeing Lilian walking down in black silk pajamas. Her long, wet hair draped over her shoulders. She looked gorgeous with her perfect face, fair and thin neck, charming collarbone, and silky skin. The shape of her plump breasts and slender waist was defined by a sash. Her legs were fair and slender, showcased in pink cartoon slippers.
Gilmore swallowed. He knew Lilian was attractive, but this was the first time he'd seen her in pajamas. She looked so provocative and pure that he was captivated by her curves.
Lilian walked toward him, suspicion on her face. "How come I heard another man's voice?"
Instead of answering, Gilmore gazed at her breasts, mouth agape. Noticing his gaze, she blushed faintly and pinched his arm. "You bastard! Are you done staring at me?"
Gilmore cried out, "Ouch! Easy!"
"I'll gouge your eyes out if you keep looking," Lilian said, feigning annoyance.
"Are you trying to kill your boyfriend?" Gilmore said with a mischievous smile.
Lilian reached out to pinch him, but Gilmore ducked and ran away. Lilian chased after him.
"Don't run!" she shouted.
"I bet you can't catch me," he said.
They enjoyed the game. Lilian eventually caught him, panting from exhaustion, and stopped pinching him. Gilmore hugged her tightly, and she nestled against his chest. They could hear each other's heartbeats. Lilian's cheeks flushed red. Gilmore looked down and kissed her. She closed her eyes, her eyelashes fluttering. It was a wonderful moment. They felt a wave of affection.
After a while, Gilmore swept her into his arms and carried her upstairs.

Meanwhile, a BMW parked about 300 feet from the villa. Ian sat inside, anxiously watching the villa, a cigarette butt in his hand.
"What's taking him so long?" He threw the butt out the window. He'd smoked more than a dozen cigarettes. He was eager to know if Dave had disabled Gilmore. He wouldn't rest until it was done. Otherwise, he wouldn't sleep tonight. If Gilmore stayed longer, he'd sleep with Lilian—unacceptable to Ian.
Then, he spotted men leaving the villa and getting into an Audi. It was Dave and his men.
"He must have done it," Ian thought excitedly.
The car left. Ian immediately called Dave.
"Follow my car if you want to know how Gilmore is," Dave said indifferently, then hung up without waiting for a reply.
Dave's words ignited Ian's anger. "Who does he think he is? But for my father, he'd still be in prison." Despite his anger, Ian couldn't confront him. He started his car and followed.
