Chapter 16
“But… Emelie is married now. Does she still need to choose between you? Who does she actually like best? Does she actually want all of you?” Melissa glanced quickly at the four men’s reactions, then slapped her mouth. “My bad. I take it back. Emelie definitely loves only one man. She’s not indecisive.”
Tyler remained unfazed. He was the one with real standing. He and Emelie had already had a frank conversation the previous night; they’d shared everything. She’d completely let go of the Horton brothers and held no feelings for them.
Tyler felt confident, but the Horton brothers remained silent, exchanging wary glances. For years, they’d vied for Emelie’s affection, yet no resolution emerged. They didn't even know who she truly preferred. Could it be as Melissa suggested—that Emelie wanted them all?
This thought elicited threatening looks between Anthony, Marcelo, and Connor. Though triplets, they’d competed since birth. Their strong personalities were incompatible with sharing; the very idea was unacceptable.
“That’s impossible!” they said in unison, their synchronized response filling them with disdain.
Melissa, momentarily startled by their strong reactions, quickly regained her composure. She’d merely used Emelie to test the brothers. Just as she was about to continue her provocation, Emelie slowly descended the stairs.
Hearing the commotion, she sleepily rubbed her eyes. “Who’s at the door?” Following Tyler’s scent, she leaned against his back, her weight settling upon him. Despite limited interactions, she felt an effortless connection with him.
This familiar movement nearly drove Connor mad with jealousy. “Emelie Richmond! Don’t lean on him!” he shouted sharply. In the past, when she was roused from sleep, she would lean on him; now, she did so with another man. Anthony and Marcelo shared his sour expression.
Emelie’s earlier peculiar gait and the numerous hickeys visible beneath her pajamas had already pushed them close to the breaking point. Previously, fearing regret, they’d restrained themselves from intimacy. Now, she was intimate with someone else. Jealousy threatened to overwhelm them. Their shared triplet telepathy amplified their feelings, the threefold jealousy almost unbearable.
Meanwhile, Tyler naturally pulled Emelie into his arms, rubbing her waist. “Does it still hurt?” She buried her face in his neck and shook her head, still half asleep.
The sight pushed the three brothers to the edge. “Emelie, divorce him and come back to us. We can pretend this never happened,” Anthony said, gripping her hand tightly, attempting to pull her away.
