Chapter 10

Eleanor’s mind wasn’t on work anymore. It was time to think about other basal desires now that she was fed and watered—Sebastian had aroused her. They were a proper married couple, so it was perfectly normal for her to want to do something with him. She held his hand, which was devoid of any accessories. His veins protruded slightly, giving off a sexy air that only mature men possessed.

“Should we get a pair of wedding bands, too? That’ll make us seem more like a couple, don’t you think? What’s your ring size? I’ll order us something,” Eleanor said.

Sebastian’s breathing grew heavy each time she talked about them being married, even though he knew the words didn’t come from her heart.

“Measure it yourself.”

She traced his ring finger as he watched. Then, she looked up to meet his gaze. His eyes were cold and shadowed, while hers were naturally sensual. Something volatile and flammable ignited between them, threatening to burn them to crisps.

Eleanor smiled, looking particularly alluring under the candlelight. The sight made Sebastian’s gaze darken. She grabbed her bag and got up. “Let’s go, darling.”

He loosened his tie and followed her out. They’d both had alcohol, so Eleanor had called her driver to drive them home. The driver started the car as she and Sebastian got into the backseat. At the same time, he pressed a button to raise the partition, separating the front from the back.

It was a habitual action; he didn’t mean anything by it. However, the moment the partition was up, Sebastian stopped suppressing his arousal. He grabbed Eleanor’s hand and pulled her from the seat onto his lap.

She instinctively clung to his shirt, but the action didn’t stop her from sliding deeper into his embrace. Her eyes widened in surprise—she hadn’t expected him to be so forceful. In fact, she’d thought she would have to make the first move.

“You…”

She didn’t manage to say anything else before Sebastian sealed her lips with his. The scent of red wine spread within their mouths, and her waist instantly turned to jelly.

Sebastian’s kiss wasn’t gentle at all. Rather, it was fierce, passionate, and almost wild. He stole her breath without restraint, seemingly wanting to mold her with his body.

Eleanor wrapped her arms around his neck, tugging on the hair at the back of his head, giving in to his forcefulness. She didn’t want to admit it, but she loved him being so dominant. It instantly made her blood rush.

They kissed all the way back to Minharton, never once separating as their control threatened to snap. Their discarded clothes trailed all the way from the entrance of the house to the bedroom, and they fell onto the bed together.

Eleanor kept her arms tightly wrapped around Sebastian’s neck. He looked down at her and asked, “Does it feel good?”

She’d been dazed on their wedding night and hadn’t been fully engrossed in making love. Now that she was lucid, she hooked a leg around his waist.

That night, they did it thrice. In the end, they had to sleep in the guest bedroom after thoroughly making a mess of the bed in the master bedroom.

Eleanor curled up on her side with her back to Sebastian. She was used to sleeping alone and would never snuggle in someone’s arms.

He watched her silently and pulled the sheets up to her shoulders before making a call. “Give Sandberg Group the deal.”

The following morning, Eleanor showed up for work punctually despite her legs feeling like jelly. She had no choice—there was a meeting with the senior executives. She was currently the manager of Business Unit 1, while Brenda managed Business Unit 2. Their offices were next to each other.

Eleanor turned on her computer and started preparing for the meeting. Just then, the manager of Business Unit 3, Leslie Hart, ran to her in excitement. “Victory Tech’s agreed to work with us, and they’ll send a representative to sign the contract this afternoon. Which one of you got the contract, Ms. Eleanor and Ms. Brenda? You’re amazing!”

Victory Tech had finally agreed to the cooperation?

Eleanor checked her phone to see whether Lisa had texted her. Unexpectedly, Brenda said confidently, “I did, of course.”
