Chapter 14
Sebastian smirked and pressed a button, lowering the sports car’s roof and turning it into a convertible. The mountaintop was vast and open, and the wind howled. It instantly woke Eleanor up. Sebastian shifted gears, pressing both the accelerator and brake, making the engine roar. It ignited a surge of adrenaline.
Then, he said lazily, “Hang tight.”
Before Eleanor could process what he meant, he released the brakes, making the car shoot down the mountain path like an arrow being shot from a bow. Eleanor instantly felt like she was flying—the seatbelt was the only thing keeping her in place. She let out a whoop.
The path was empty, and the asphalt was smooth. The top-tier sports car was finally able to unleash its full potential and shot to a breathtaking 200 mph. Eleanor’s eyes lit up, and she threw her arms in the air, crying excitedly, “This is amazing!”
All her worries were taken away by the howling wind. The deputy CEO position and her so-called surgical record—none of that mattered anymore.
She said, “Faster!”
Sebastian satisfied her. He stepped on the accelerator while holding the wheel with both hands. He looked casual and relaxed, but the car didn’t so much as jostle under his control. They shot to the foot of the mountain in no time.
“Do it again! This feels even better than a roller-coaster ride!” Eleanor hadn’t had enough.
Sebastian didn’t say anything. He just turned the car around and drove back up the mountain path. Then, he sped down to the foot of the mountain again.
Eleanor felt like every pore on her body had opened up. Blood rushed in her veins, and her heart raced. Even her face was red from the adrenaline. She already looked captivating; she was breathtaking with her face flushed.
She felt hot. Once Sebastian parked the car, she unbuckled her seatbelt and clambered over the console to sit on his lap. He looked at her. She settled down in his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck, looking like an almighty princess. “Did you bring me out for a spin because you knew I was in a bad mood?”
He leaned back leisurely, his silence an agreement.
Eleanor laughed and pecked his cheek. “You’re so considerate, darling. Looks like my love for you hasn’t gone to waste.”
He said lazily, “You don’t have to keep saying that. Save it for when you mean it.”
Her casual mentions of love meant nothing to him if there wasn’t anything backing them up.
Eleanor didn’t know whether it was the lingering heat in the air or how the setting sun’s rays made Sebastian seem more handsome than ever. Whatever it was, her mouth felt dry, and her body was restless.
She wanted to do something naughty.
She leaned close to Sebastian, her lips barely brushing against his as she murmured, “Love can be made, too. Do you want to try it out, darling?”
His gaze darkened as his hand crept onto her slender waist. “Here?”
Eleanor didn’t shy away from asking to be fucked, but doing it outdoors was still a little too challenging for her. “Hmm… maybe we should wait until we get home.”
He chuckled, seemingly laughing at her for being bold on the outside but shy on the inside. He patted her ass, signaling for her to move back to her seat.
She returned to the front passenger seat, and he started the car. However, instead of driving back to Minharton, he took her to Starbright Hotel—it was closer than Minharton.
Eleanor was just thinking that she wasn’t that desperate when Sebastian pulled her out of the car and into the hotel. Then, he dragged her straight to the elevator and swiped a card that allowed them access to the top floor.
She belatedly realized that he hadn’t stopped by the front desk to check them in. Had he already reserved a room at the hotel? When had he done it? No, wait—why had he taken her to the top floor?
She looked at him dazedly. “Are you sure you have the right place? I remember this hotel doesn’t allow reservations for the suite on the top floor—it’s not something you can get just by being rich. How do you…”
Sebastian opened the door and carelessly cast the key aside. He lifted Eleanor off her feet and pinned her to the door without even turning on the lights. Then, he pressed his lips to hers without any hint of tenderness.
All her questions and doubts disappeared as he dominated her with his kiss. She couldn’t ask anything.
They had another sleepless night.
When Eleanor arrived at the company early the following day, she didn’t head to her office. Instead, she went straight to the CEO’s office to ask Philip for her appointment letter. However, Philip wasn’t around.
She raised an eyebrow and asked his secretary, “Where’s Mr. Sandberg?”
The secretary said politely, “He’s gone on a business trip.”
“Oh? So last-minute?” Eleanor asked sarcastically.
The secretary said awkwardly, “No, Ms. Eleanor. It’s something that was arranged a long time ago.”
Eleanor would be a fool if she bought that. She knew Philip was avoiding her.
Well, she wasn’t in any hurry. Everyone in the company—including the board of directors—knew that whoever had scored the A22 contract would be promoted to deputy CEO. Philip wasn’t getting out of this; he would eventually have to stamp the appointment letter.
She said coolly, “Fine, then.”
She turned and left. When she returned to her office, she found that Brenda wasn’t in, either. The latter was probably caring for Maurice at the hospital.
Eleanor paid no mind and threw herself into her work. A day soon passed, and it was time to get off work. Suddenly, she craved Starbright Hotel’s hazelnut cake.
Last night, after they had finally been satiated, Sebastian had ordered room service. A slice of hazelnut cake had been on the menu, and it had been delicious.
Eleanor had never believed in delayed gratification—if she wanted something, she had to get it immediately. And so, after leaving the office, she headed straight to Starbright Hotel. Coincidentally, she saw Sebastian and a few professionally dressed young men and women exit the elevator when she arrived. He was at the front of the group and was eye-catching.
She narrowed her eyes, guessing that he was there to meet a client.
Sebastian had been listening to the people around him when he suddenly sensed something and looked up. He met Eleanor’s gaze and saw her smile at him.
He faltered for a split second before retracting his gaze and saying something to the people with him. They left the hotel without him, while he headed toward Eleanor.
He wore a navy three-piece suit. The tailored material accentuated his figure and good looks, making him seem more regal. He had a dark-colored tie on, and the knot pressed against his Adam’s apple.
It took only a few steps for him to reach her with his long strides, but his movements were sexy as hell. Eleanor could now understand why some netizens claimed they were fans of their idols’ walk. It turned out the simple act of walking could be so… sensual.
Sebastian stopped before her, and she looked up at him with a smile. “Were you with a client?”
“Those were my subordinates,” he answered.
“Porter Group has people like them?” Eleanor naturally assumed his subordinates were Porter Group’s employees. He merely raised an eyebrow without answering.
She didn’t push him for answers. They were married but worked for different companies. In fact, Sandberg Group and Porter Group were competitors in certain industries.
She put her hands behind her back and complimented him. “Darling, have I ever told you that you look smoking hot in a suit?”
His gaze darkened. “Haven’t you only ever seen me in suits?”
Eleanor teased, “I’ve seen you naked, too.”
Sebastian chuckled. “Are you going to do this in broad daylight?”
She shrugged. “Does this mean you like the demure, reserved type? Well, I guess I’ll get back to work. I only came because I suddenly craved the hazelnut cake here. I just dropped by to get a slice.”
She turned to leave, the hem of her dress swaying as she moved. She never wore boring suits to work—she only wore her own clothes, which were usually fashionable and eye-catching. The hem of her dress brushed against Sebastian’s pants. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he stepped forward to sweep her off her feet.
Eleanor yelped in surprise. He looked down at her. “I’ll give you all the cake you want.”
She had to let him put it in her first, though. He carried her to the elevator and took her straight up to the top floor. Unbeknownst to them, a camera hidden in the shadows captured everything.
