Listen to this chapter:

"What?" Dylan was so startled he almost fell off his chair, barely managing to steady himself on the table.

He wasn't excitable, but Arcton Cars was a dead-end department, and being transferred there was akin to exile. He'd never expected headquarters to send someone over. 'Could they be transferring me back to Noria Group?' he wondered.

The thought sent a surge of wild joy through him, and he quickly straightened his suit to greet the visitor.

Before he could go out, the visitor arrived. A young man in a gray suit, clutching a briefcase, appeared at the door. "Hello, Mr. Hart."

Dylan rushed over, exchanged pleasantries, and recognized the visitor as Charles's secretary. 'Could he be here with orders from Mr. Hudson?' he pondered.

Thinking about leaving this shabby place and returning to Noria Group, Dylan was so elated his eyes nearly narrowed to slits. "How has Mr. Hudson been lately? I just got some premium coffee beans from a friend. I heard Charles is a coffee lover; I'll bring him some next time."

"I'll pass your kindness along to Mr. Hudson," replied the secretary.

Dylan immediately asked, "No worries. I'll hand it over to Mr. Hudson myself when I get back to Noria Group. By the way, where's my transfer notice?"

The secretary was puzzled. "What transfer notice?" he asked, frowning.

Dylan stammered, "No transfer notice? Didn't you come to give me"

The young secretary suddenly realized. "I did come for something, but I didn't have a transfer notice. However, I have an important document for you. It's great news!"

A bright smile crept onto Dylan's face. 'Of course. I'm going to be transferred to headquarters!' he cheered inwardly.

As he was about to pick up the document, the secretary continued, "I'm sure you already know about the new super-luxury car dealership. It's hiring, and Arcton Cars has a quota!"

Dylan's smile froze.

The young secretary took a document from his briefcase—the talent manual for the new dealership. "Each branch has only one or two spots, and since Arcton Cars is smaller, it has only one, which goes to the person with the best sales performance last year. May I ask who among you"

Everyone in the office turned to look at Valerie simultaneously. The young secretary immediately understood and handed the document to Valerie. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Congratulations!"

Valerie thanked him briefly. After the secretary left, Valerie perused the papers, feeling a sense of unreality.

Finally, Katherine exclaimed, "Valerie, when you said you were leaving Arcton Cars, I thought you were quitting. Turns out you're getting promoted to Noria Group!"

Valerie was shocked. When she said she was leaving, she meant resigning. She couldn't handle her previous workload with her pregnancy and needed a less demanding job. She was still hesitating, but then Isabel and Dylan repeatedly caused her trouble. She could handle them, but it was a waste of time.

Unexpectedly, just as she was about to leave, Noria Group offered her a job.

Valerie knew about the talent selection at the new luxury car dealership and knew the competition was fierce. Given Noria Group's preference for their own employees, she hadn't considered it, yet this opportunity had landed in her lap.

Her colleagues shared her excitement.

"This new luxury car dealership is different; it's more about comprehensive luxury car services than just sales. The workload is light, and the pay is great," one girl said.

"I never thought we'd have a spot, too. I'm so jealous of Valerie!" another added.

"When did you get married, Valerie? Now you have both a happy marriage and a good job! How enviable!"

Only Dylan glared at the documents in Valerie's hand, unable to accept the result, cursing inwardly that it had to be Valerie.

Valerie smirked, giving Dylan a cool glance.

Dylan seethed but didn't retort; instead, he sullenly picked up his briefcase and returned to his office.

Others found Valerie incredibly lucky. Only Dylan knew how absurd it was that this document came to Arcton Cars. Noria Group looked down on Arcton Cars, which targeted the lower market, unlike the luxury car dealership. Few positions were available at the luxury dealership; Noria Group's own dealerships were competing for them, so how could they give a spot to Arcton Cars? Yet they did.

Charles's secretary even delivered the document personally to Valerie.

If Dylan hadn't seen it himself, he wouldn't have believed it. This wasn't just luck; he felt the document was created specifically for Valerie.

'Who on earth is she?' Dylan wondered.
