Listen to this chapter:

Katherine was momentarily stumped by the question. "Actually, I'm not sure myself," she said. "Caleb is also a gaming streamer and seems to get all sorts of tips. Anyway, he makes a couple of thousand dollars a month—way more than I do!"

Valerie chuckled. "Alright, my lady. It just so happens my brother runs a small fruit shop. He knows the streets around here pretty well. I'll ask him later."

"Thanks, Valerie!" Katherine replied.

Time seemed to fly even faster when good things happened. The car dealership was pretty quiet that afternoon. After six o'clock, Mr. Moreno organized a group dinner to celebrate Valerie's promotion.

Katherine became quite tipsy. After everyone left, Valerie, worried, used Katherine's phone to call Caleb.

Twenty minutes later, a familiar white BMW pulled up.

"Valerie!" Caleb hurried over. Katherine, completely drunk, clung to Valerie. Only when Caleb took her did Valerie breathe a sigh of relief.

"Caleb, what brings you by?" Katherine giggled.

"Why did you drink so much?" Caleb asked.

"I'm not drunk," Katherine mumbled, though she was clearly intoxicated. After stubbornly denying it, she shoved a plastic bag into Caleb's arms, mumbling it was a gift for him. Then, she crawled into the back seat and passed out.

Caleb looked puzzled at the plastic bag. "What's this?" he asked.

Valerie chuckled. "Katherine said you like crayfish, so she specially packed some for you. Don't worry; it's all clean."

"Huh?" Caleb was speechless. "I see. It's sweet of her to think of me even when she's intoxicated. By the way, Valerie, are you heading back? Can I give you a ride?"

"Thanks, but Katherine is feeling unwell. You should take her home. I rode my scooter here, and I can manage on my own," Valerie declined.

Caleb seemed a bit disappointed at the sight of her scooter. "Then be careful on your way back, Valerie. Oh, and by the way," he added, "I haven't properly thanked you for that car accident yet. I've prepared a little something for you as a token of my gratitude. You have to accept it."

"There's no need for that" Unable to resist Caleb's enthusiasm, Valerie reluctantly accepted the gift. Opening the box, she found a necklace featuring stars and moons.

"The moment I saw it, I thought it would suit you perfectly, Valerie. Stars and moons really match your aura. Do you like it?" Caleb looked at Valerie intently, seeming a bit nervous.

Valerie felt a peculiar unease, but Caleb's sincerity made her question her feelings. It seemed he merely intended to express his gratitude. "Thanks, I'll take it," she replied.

Caleb breathed a sigh of relief. "Valerie, may I help you put it on?"

Valerie waved her hands quickly, refusing. "Nah, I just remembered I have some things to take care of at home. Gotta rush back; you should get Katherine home, too."

She hurried to push her scooter, but the front wheel was stuck in the grass. After struggling, Caleb lifted the scooter. "Thanks a ton; you boys sure are strong!"

Valerie bid farewell to Caleb and rode off. Caleb watched her leave before getting into his car.

Unbeknownst to them, this scene was witnessed by two people in a nearby car.

"Mr. Grant" The silence in the car was heavy. Charles mustered his courage. "Maybe it's just a misunderstanding." Matthew, emotionless, responded after a brief pause. His voice, cold as ice, uttered, "Let's go back," sending shivers down Charles's spine. Charles hastily started the car.

But he hesitated. "Mr. Grant, umm, which home are we going to?"

He received another glare from Matthew. Charles felt discomfort, regretting his question. His internal monologue continued (the fragmented and unclear final section has been removed as it's nonsensical and unfixable without more context): How stupid I am! Mr. Grant obviously wants to go back to his own place!

The passage has been cleaned up for grammar, punctuation, and clarity. The final, garbled section was removed due to its incomprehensibility.
