Chen Yu began, "Don't go. Gu Qichen left Lake Bay early this morning."

Xia Yangyang was surprised. "How do you know?"

"I returned the suit last night; Shen Manbing left with Gu Qichen."

Xia Yangyang suddenly remembered she'd borrowed the black mini-dress from Chen Yu and Shen Manbing. She stood stunned for thirty seconds, then lifted her head and smiled. "Chen Yu, let's go on a trip abroad."

They spent the next ten days traveling in Europe. During this time, Xia Yangyang kept her phone switched off, knowing Gu Qichen would easily track her down if she remained in the country. She enjoyed herself without worry.

On the tenth day, aboard the plane home, looking at the clouds, Xia Yangyang felt a return to reality. She'd given herself ten days to prepare, and she was ready. She opened a file folder containing a newly drafted document. Tomorrow, their short, farcical marriage would quietly end.

They arrived at Fengdu International Airport early in the morning. Few people were around. However, after collecting her luggage, Xia Yangyang saw Gu Qichen at the exit, looking different—cold and solemn in a black shirt. She stopped; Chen Yu noticed and took her hand, walking toward Gu Qichen. Gu Qichen's eyes fell on their joined hands, his expression growing colder.

Chen Yu broke the silence. "What a coincidence, President Gu. Another business trip this late?"

Gu Qichen replied coldly, "Not a coincidence. I'm waiting for you."

Chen Yu feigned surprise. "Why do I feel you're not waiting for us, but to settle a score?"

"Mr. Chen, my wife has been missing for ten days. I naturally want to settle this with you."

Xia Yangyang interrupted. "It's not Chen Yu's fault. I asked him to accompany me. If you want to settle scores, Gu Qichen, you should find me."

Gu Qichen's face darkened. He was silent for a moment. "Xia Yangyang, do you know what you're doing?"

"I know exactly." Xia Yangyang showed no hesitation. Since he was waiting, she'd make it quick. She took a document from her handbag. "Mr. Gu, let's not delay each other. Sign this, and our relationship ends. From then on, let's pretend we've never met."

Xia Yangyang was sure he was there to finalize their separation. He'd likely been anxious during her disappearance, afraid she'd cause him trouble. His presence at the airport exit showed how urgently he wanted it to end. Since he clearly had no remaining feelings, neither did she. If he wanted to be rid of her quickly, she would grant his wish.
