Chapter 136: Get Married (1)
Shen Manbing's face darkened. She'd joined the film crew to determine the nature of Gu Qichen and Xia Yangyang's marriage—was it genuine or a sham? She now believed she had her answer. Gu Qichen, known for his mysophobia and aversion to physical contact with women, showed no such aversion when kissing Xia Yangyang. It was almost playful.
In contrast, Xia Yangyang remained tense and cautious. This Gu Qichen was unlike the one she knew.
The director called for another take, leaving Xia Yangyang deflated and under pressure. She struggled to immerse herself in the scene, especially given Gu Qichen's demeanor. He, however, remained patient, calmly rehearsing the scene repeatedly. As he released her, he whispered, "It's not like you haven't done this before; just act naturally."
Xia Yangyang's frustration boiled over. "Director, can I have a drink?" she asked.
"No," Gu Qichen replied.
Ignoring him, Xia Yangyang found a bottle of liquor and took a few large gulps. Gu Qichen snatched the bottle away.
"Let's try again," Xia Yangyang said.
Her low alcohol tolerance quickly took effect. The alcohol blurred her surroundings, silencing the gossip and leering stares. She saw only Gu Qichen. He laid her on the bed and kissed her. The familiar feeling brought a wave of realization—she missed his scent. His kiss, initially dominant, softened into a tender intensity, utterly captivating. He pulled the covers over them.
The usual filming procedure for a bed scene would involve a few symbolic movements under the covers. But Gu Qichen didn't stop. He kissed her passionately, seemingly intent on devouring her, only ceasing when the director called "cut." He reluctantly released her lips, whispering, "Shall we go home tonight? Hm?"
In her intoxicated state, Xia Yangyang instinctively responded affirmatively. Only then did Gu Qichen lift the covers and rise. The brightly lit room brought Xia Yangyang back to reality. The onlookers' expressions were strange; her cheeks were flushed, her eyes misty. Gu Qichen, however, was his usual cool self, sharp and composed. While buttoning his cuffs, he calmly discussed the scene with the director, his every move exuding an irresistible charm.
