Xia Yangyang said, "I'll go see."

Everyone watched Xia Yangyang leave with envious glances. Among the entire crew, Xia Yangyang was the most cherished, favored by the director, the producer, and even the notoriously bad-tempered Chen Yu. He often teased her, calling her "Miss Qian."

Anyone could see that Chen Yu liked Xia Yangyang. He was known for defending her and only allowed her into the kitchen he managed. Initially, everyone thought Xia Yangyang had snagged the movie emperor, Chen Yu. Unexpectedly, she had chosen Gu Qichen.

When Xia Yangyang entered the room, Chen Yu was sulking. Her arrival only worsened his mood. She approached him, and after he huffed and turned away, she picked up a mirror from the dressing table and held it in front of him. "Chen Yu, look at yourself when you're angry"

Chen Yu glanced at her.

Xia Yangyang quickly changed her tone. "Why do you look so handsome, even when you're angry? You truly deserve to be the entertainment industry's number one beauty."

Chen Yu was indeed considered the industry's most beautiful man, admired even by women. Hearing Xia Yangyang's flattering praise, his expression softened. He took the mirror, examining himself. "Of course," he said, "no one more handsome than me has ever been born."

Xia Yangyang readily agreed. "You're so handsome that flowers bloom at your presence, people adore you, and cars get flat tires just from seeing you."

Chen Yu asked, "Am I more handsome than Gu Qichen?"

Xia Yangyang was startled but played along. "You're the most handsome."

Chen Yu's mood visibly improved. He put down the mirror. "Then why did you choose him over me?"

This wasn't a simple comparison; there was no basis for judgment. Xia Yangyang considered a moment before answering tactfully. "Chen Yu, you don't truly like me. You're still in love with the girl from your memory who gave you chocolate."

"But that girl is you."

"It's different. Back then, you just needed that warmth. Over the years, you've transferred those feelings to me. You're in love with the girl you've imagined, the one from your memory, but that's not actually me."

Chen Yu seemed to not fully understand, disappointment evident on his face. "Is that your reason for rejecting me?"

Xia Yangyang hesitated. "Chen Yu"

Chen Yu waved his hand. "Never mind. I saw the press conference—it was sickeningly sweet. You like Gu Qichen; I can accept that. But, Miss Qian, if you and Gu Qichen ever divorce, come back to me. Just say the word, and I'll marry you! I'll always wait for you!"

"We will not get divorced. Mr. Chen, I'm afraid there's no need to wait, or you might grow old alone and regret it," a cold voice echoed from the doorway.

Both turned to see Gu Qichen standing at the entrance, impeccably dressed in a white shirt. He was a striking figure.

Chen Yu frowned. "You were eavesdropping."

Gu Qichen entered. "I wasn't eavesdropping; I was listening openly."

Chen Yu was furious.

Xia Yangyang stood, surprised. "How did you get here so early?"

Gu Qichen glanced at Chen Yu. "If I hadn't arrived early, how would I know someone was trying to undermine me?"

Chen Yu also stood. Both men were of similar height and possessed strong presences. Xia Yangyang instinctively took a step back, fearing the impending conflict.
