Chapter 244: The Brain Needs Some Sunlight

Xia Yangyang went straight to the lounge, its door open. Only Gu Qichen and Gu Mingzhu were inside. Xia Yangyang entered and called, "Sister."

Gu Mingzhu looked up, momentarily dazed as she gazed at Xia Yangyang's face. She'd felt something was off the first time she saw it, but hadn't investigated. Xia Yangyang truly resembled Tan Zhen.

Approaching Gu Mingzhu, Xia Yangyang asked with concern, "Sis, are you okay? I heard you were hurt. Where are you injured?"

Seeing the gauze on Gu Mingzhu's hand, Xia Yangyang tried to examine it. Gu Mingzhu pulled her hand away, saying coldly, "I'm fine."

Xia Yangyang, taken aback, straightened up, withdrew her hand, and glanced at Gu Qichen, who seemed to furrow his brow slightly. Just then, Gu Zhaohan entered.

Xia Yangyang's heart skipped a beat. She avoided Gu Zhaohan's gaze, hanging her head. Clearly, Gu Mingzhu had summoned him.

Gu Mingzhu rose and said to Gu Qichen, "I'm very tired. I'm going home."

Gu Qichen nodded. "Rest well. I'll see you tomorrow."

Gu Mingzhu offered a forced smile and left with Gu Zhaohan. Silence fell over the lounge.

Xia Yangyang finally spoke. "Sis, what's wrong? You seem upset."

Gu Qichen looked thoughtful. "I don't know." He turned to Xia Yangyang. "What about you? What's wrong?"

Xia Yangyang was confused. "What do you mean, 'what's wrong'?"

"Why did you look guilty when you saw Xiao Han?"

"I wasn't guilty."

"Xia Yangyang, you're still a poor actress around me."

Xia Yangyang fell silent, lowered her head, and mumbled, "I'm sorry."

After a long pause, Xia Yangyang cautiously looked up, meeting Gu Qichen's intense gaze.

"So, Xiao Han confessed?" he asked casually.

Xia Yangyang knew Gu Qichen was perceptive. Just as he'd seen Gu Zhaohan's feelings before she had, he'd likely figured this out. She honestly recounted the balcony incident.

Gu Qichen's expression remained unchanged—unsurprised rather than angry. "I misunderstood you. I thought you were petty and jealous. I didn't expect"

"With your dense brain, you wouldn't have seen it. Xiao Han is unpredictable," he added.

Had he not witnessed their kiss on the terrace, Gu Qichen might not have realized Gu Zhaohan's feelings, so well-hidden behind a façade of dislike, even loathing. His earlier actions were merely a cover for his affection.

Admitting her mistake, Xia Yangyang scurried to Gu Qichen, tugged his hand, and shook it. "Don't be angry. I misunderstood you. I'll listen to you and never question you again."

Gu Qichen seemed pleased. "So, you'll listen to everything I say?"

Xia Yangyang nodded sincerely. "Of course."

"Then let's have a baby."

"No! Gu Qichen, I haven't graduated yet!"

"A graduation photo with our daughter would be perfect."

"Why a daughter? What if it's a son?"

"If it's a son, we'll have another. A daughter." Gu Qichen closed the distance between them. "With such a big task, we don't have much time. Darling, why not now…"

Xia Yangyang realized she'd been tricked and feigned anger. "Gu Qichen, you need some sunlight! What are you thinking all day?"
