Chapter 99: Chapter 100: Do You Have Prince Syndrome?

Xia Yangyang knew Chen Yu would eat, but she doubted he'd patronize street food stalls. That afternoon, the entire film crew ate boxed lunches—even the director. Only Chen Yu had his own private chef, but no one dared accuse him of favoritism.

"Do you believe me when I say if you go in there with me, you might not come out alive?" Xia Yangyang asked.

This was the food street in the college town. Although it was summer vacation, Chen Yu was filming a TV series nearby, keeping ninety percent of the students on campus. The filming location was sealed off, yet it was still surrounded by crowds daily since set construction began. If Chen Yu appeared on the food street now, a riot was likely. He knew it, too.

"Then you go buy; I'll wait in the car," Chen Yu said. "I want lamb skewers and hot and sour rice noodles, extra chili."

He acted as if he were at home. Xia Yangyang, however, knew his wayward nature; if she disobeyed, he might follow her. Sighing, she reluctantly went to the food street.

She soon returned with two bowls of steaming hot and sour rice noodles and a large order of lamb skewers. She'd eaten these many times, but never in a Ferrari. She ate carefully, wary of dirtying the car, while Chen Yu devoured his meal. Usually, she'd find such eating manners unpleasant, but Chen Yu's face made it impossible to dislike him, no matter what. His slender, fair fingers, like bamboo joints, held the disposable chopsticks with an unexpected elegance.

When Chen Yu looked up and saw her watching him, he smirked. "Little Missy, don't you think even my eating habits are charming?"

Xia Yangyang frowned, leaning in seriously. "Chen Yu, I need to ask you something."

Her closeness startled him. "What is it?" he asked stiffly.

"Are you suffering from Prince Syndrome?" she asked seriously.

Stepping back, she took a bite of mutton. "Has no one told you about this?"

Chen Yu snorted, casually producing a small mirror. "Prince Syndrome describes ordinary-looking, overconfident people. But with my looks, I'm a prince. How could I have Prince Syndrome?"

Xia Yangyang shook her head in disgust. "It's too late; incurable."

After dinner, Chen Yu insisted on driving her to the dormitory entrance. Once she was out, she urged him to leave, knowing female students often waited there.

He lowered the car window. "Little Missy, no goodbye kiss?"

Xia Yangyang immediately turned and ran into the dormitory building. Smiling, Chen Yu drove away.

Xia Weiwei, who had been secretly filming, witnessed the scene. She'd anticipated Chen Yu dropping Xia Yangyang off and had been waiting. A scandal would be disastrous, given Chen Yu's fanatical fanbase.

Just as Xia Weiwei sneered, Lu Yao appeared. "What are you filming?" he demanded sternly.

Seeing the photo of Xia Yangyang exiting Chen Yu's car—his profile clearly visible—Lu Yao seemed to guess something. "You should know that during filming, all crew photos are confidential," he said. "Yangyang, as the female lead, hasn't even been publicly announced. Leaking these photos now would cause Director Yang to blame you, and no one can take responsibility."
