Chapter 107 (+25 Bonus)
Lord Barbenheim's high status rendered him untouchable. Yet, the Wyatt sisters felt foolish, remembering their recent fawning.
"Tell me," Lord Barbenheim said, rising and smiling, "who possesses the treasure? Or rather, where is it hidden?" He would ostensibly search for his missing son, but the Wyatt family treasure held far greater importance.
"I intend to acquire that treasure today," he declared, "even if it means razing this place and spilling your blood."
The Wyatt sisters panicked. "Your Highness," Amara pleaded tentatively, "you're the guardian of Grayvale! This will ruin your reputation!"
Lord Barbenheim simply smiled. "If I raze this place, ensure there are no survivors or witnesses," he instructed his soldiers.
The Wyatt sisters' faces fell. Lord Barbenheim held ultimate authority in Grayvale and could easily destroy the Wyatt family.
"Tell me where the treasure is, and I'll spare you," he said icily.
Amara's eyes lit up. "Do you mean it?"
"I'm a man of my word," Lord Barbenheim replied.
"To protect my family," Amara declared, making a dramatic gesture toward Dustin, "my father gave the treasure to Dustin! He's the only one who knows where it is!"
"Yes!" Elisa exclaimed, "It's likely with him! We've never seen it. If it exists, only he knows!"
Delia added, "He definitely hid it! Capture him and interrogate him, Your Highness!"
Clara, more composed, said, "I heard Father planned to give Dustin an item. We were angry and kicked him out"
Dustin chuckled. The Wyatt sisters' ruthlessness was evident. He had served them loyally, yet been treated like trash. After his expulsion, he became their scapegoat. His laughter was mocking.
"Dustin," the sisters demanded angrily, "why are you laughing? You're about to die!"
"I'm laughing at your stupidity and naiveté," Dustin said coldly. "Lord Barbenheim is here. Do you think making me a scapegoat will save you? You're idiots!"
The Wyatt sisters froze. Clara's face darkened; she had considered this possibility.
Lord Barbenheim continued to smile, his interest in Dustin growing. "You're a smart man. Hand over the treasure, and enjoy a life of riches."
Dustin scoffed. "You'll never get the Wyatt family's treasure," he said coldly.
Lord Barbenheim's smile vanished. After a moment, he said, "If you won't tell me, I'll dig it out of you."
He gestured, and a soldier handed him a cloth bag. "I searched elsewhere, but found nothing." He opened the bag, revealing an urn.
The Wyatt sisters' faces paled. Dustin's expression turned fierce and murderous.
"You dug up my adoptive father's grave?!" he roared, ready to kill. Lord Barbenheim had exhumed Lucas's remains!
