Chapter 121
Silence fell for a moment.
"Good!" Margot declared, satisfied, about to finalize the deal.
"I object," Dustin said.
Margot's face darkened. "You? Who do you think you are? You have no right to speak here."
Christian, annoyed, barked, "Shut up! Take the money and leave!"
"Three million dollars isn't enough, and you still want to marry Simone? Dream on! You're not even fit to clean Mr. Devon's shoes, let alone steal Simone from him!"
Devon scowled, frowning at Dustin. "I heard you saved Simone's life. If three million isn't enough, I'll give you ten. Leave her alone, or you'll regret it." He wrote a check for ten million, signed it, and threw it at Dustin. To him, money solved everything. Ten million was nothing; he considered it charity.
Dustin watched the check approach, his gaze sharpening. Suddenly, boom! The check disintegrated as if caught in an invisible whirlwind. The three million Christian had thrown at his feet also shredded, scattering paper fragments across the room.
Everyone was stunned.
"You ungrateful bastard!" Christian roared, lunging at Dustin with a kick. He intended to punish Dustin for his actions in the courtyard and now.
Dustin flicked his finger; Christian cried out in pain, thrown back to the floor and knocked unconscious.
The other Langley family members were shocked and furious.
"You disrespectful bastard!" Margot shrieked. "Guards! Seize this arrogant brat!"
Her shouts went unanswered. Unbeknownst to them, a Hell Guard stood outside, a pile of bodies at his feet. The family remained puzzled by the commotion outside.
"You did something, didn't you?" Devon’s icy stare met Dustin’s. He threatened, "Do you know what happens when you defy the Aquila family?"
The Aquilas were immensely powerful; no one in Somerton or Honora dared oppose them. Dustin, a mere Wyatt family outcast, even with his skills, posed no real threat to Devon.
Chapter 121 (continued)
"Ignorant fool! Don't you know some are far more powerful than you?" Margot sneered. "Mr. Devon, Dustin's arrogance demands a lesson!"
"Of course," Devon agreed, shouting, "Guards!"
Bam! A fight erupted outside. After a few seconds, the noise subsided.
Devon sneered, "You may have tricks, but they're nothing to me! Your unemployed thug can't stop my bodyguards! Ha!"
Bam! Bam! The living room door burst open, and two burly men were thrown into the room, crashing with a resounding thud that shook the floorboards.
Devon was speechless, stunned. These were his elite, highly-paid bodyguards. Why were they lying lifeless? He stared in disbelief at the Hell Guard standing in the doorway. These were top-tier fighters, defeated in seconds.
