Chapter 143

Dustin was determined to retrieve the Fox family's martial arts manual. If the West family was involved in the Fox family's destruction, he would annihilate them during his visit.

En route, Irene briefly explained the West family's plight. Lucius West, during his youth, had offended many in the underworld due to his upright nature. One powerful enemy, whom Lucius had crippled, had recovered and become even more skilled. He had attacked the West family villa, critically injuring Lucius and promising to return in ten days to kill everyone.

To survive, West family elders sought help from the Aquila family, promising Irene's hand in marriage to Trevor. The Aquila family was powerful, employed exceptional fighters, and had strong ties to the Panther Gang. However, the Aquila family head's three sons were womanizers, and Irene, unwilling to marry one of them, sought alternative help. She spent the day drinking, encountered Dustin (who happened to kill Trevor), recognized his power, and devised a plan to enlist his aid.

"The West family depends on you for survival!" Irene said hopefully.

"We'll see," Dustin replied. He wasn't interested in the West family's drama; he only wanted the Fox family's martial arts manual—a valuable family heirloom.

They secured a driver for Irene's car and arrived at the West family villa, where they overheard a heated argument.

"Quacks! You're all quacks! It's a minor injury, yet you can't treat it? Get out! All of you, get out!"

A physician was ejected.

"He's almost dead! You call that a minor injury? Not even the Medical Sage himself could save him!" the furious physician shouted, gathering his belongings and leaving.

Irene's face paled. "Has Grandpa's condition worsened?" she whispered, rushing inside. Dustin calmly followed.

Inside, the West family surrounded a bed.

"Grandpa!" Irene cried, rushing to Lucius's side. Tears streamed down her face. Lucius's face was blue, his lips pale, his breathing ragged. He was near death.

"Where have you been, Irene? How could you leave Grandpa in this state? Do you even have a heart?" someone shouted.

"I was trying to find help!" Irene replied.

"And you think you could manage that? Who did you find? Where is this person?" The accuser pressed. Worried, Irene pointed to Dustin. "I found him. He can help us survive!"

The West family members looked skeptically at Dustin's youth.

"Hmph! Him? What can he do? Do you think dragging some stranger off the street will help? He looks like cannon fodder!"
