Chapter 148
Dustin said it casually, as if reviving a dead person were nothing. This gave the West family members hope.
"If you can, Mr. Fox, please save my father! The West family will be forever in your debt!" Connor said solemnly. Seeing Clark still standing disdainfully in the corner, Connor angrily dragged him to the floor.
"Bringing a dead man back to life? That's a miracle! Impossible!" Ryan said darkly.
Without explanation, Dustin went to the bed. Ryan coldly huffed and moved away without being asked; he didn't believe Dustin could perform a miracle and waited to insult him if he failed.
Approaching the bedside, Dustin took out a portable electrotherapy device and began placing electrodes on key locations on Lucius's body.
"Electrotherapy!" Ryan's eyes widened. "Of course! But that's not guaranteed! Only the most skilled physicians can pull that off!"
"Resuscitation using electrotherapy," Connor said, recognizing the treatment. "The electrodes are placed on Lucius's nine main pulse points."
"Uncle Connor, what is that?" Irene asked curiously.
"It stimulates the pulse points simultaneously to jolt the heart back to action," Connor explained. "It's like CPR, but better. Lovellia's most skilled physicians can do it, but I've never heard of anyone using a portable device! Maybe someone did in the past, but… I never imagined I'd see it today!" He was awestruck by Dustin's skill.
The rest of the West family was surprised. Irene was overjoyed; she never imagined the person she'd met at the jazz club was so exceptional.
Ryan, however, frowned, watching closely as Dustin applied the shocks. He couldn't even hope to achieve resuscitation with such inefficient equipment; even his teacher lacked that skill. He couldn't comprehend this young man's expertise.
Once Lucius's heart was beating again, Dustin proceeded to neutralize the poison. His lightning-fast movements stunned everyone.
"Giving an antidote to a just-resuscitated patient? A joke! He's too weak!" Ryan remained disdainful and doubtful.
"Haven't you heard of the Life-giving Touch?" Dustin asked indifferently.
"The… Life-giving Touch?" Ryan's eyes widened, and he froze.
"That's… impossible!" Connor was also stunned, his eyes gleaming. "The Life-giving Touch supposedly allows treatment of incredibly weak patients. It was developed by a prodigy centuries ago, but it's a lost method, a myth! No one's ever seen proof! It doesn't exist!" Ryan's voice trembled. Even his highly skilled teacher didn't believe in it; it was too mystical. Yet, Ryan's eyes remained fixed on Dustin's fingers. Everyone watched, breathless, as Dustin worked.
