Chapter 154

In the West family villa, the entire family was restless and anxious. Dustin and the West brothers had left not long ago, and their absence fueled growing worry. They were dealing with a branch of the Five Venoms Sect—a group no one dared provoke.

Fortunately, Dustin and the brothers returned shortly afterward. The West family members breathed a collective sigh of relief at their safe return.

"You're back! That's good," they said, warm smiles lighting their faces. They assumed the brothers had persuaded Dustin to return immediately. However, they soon noticed something amiss in the brothers' demeanor.

"Connor, what happened?" someone asked sternly. "Did you reach the Five Venoms Sect branch?"

"We did," Connor replied gloomily, "and now we're back."

"Mr. Fox… utterly destroyed the Lannopolis branch of the Five Venoms Sect!" Clark stated slowly.

"What?!" The West family members reacted with shock, their eyes widening in disbelief. They found it hard to believe Dustin had destroyed the branch so swiftly.

"Now that the threat is gone, hand over the martial arts manual," Dustin said indifferently. The West family members looked troubled.

"My patience is wearing thin!" Dustin's face darkened, silencing the family.

A voice from the side spoke, "You can have… the martial arts manual…"

Dustin turned to see Irene supporting an old man, Lucius, who held a martial arts manual in trembling hands. Weak and unsteady, he coughed as he spoke.

The West family members immediately rushed forward. Lucius was awake! He clearly knew what had happened and had produced the manual.

"Mr. Fox, you've saved our family multiple times. Your kindness is hard to repay. Since you want this martial arts manual, you can borrow it for a few days!" Lucius said.

Dustin swiftly moved to Lucius's side. He took the manual and eagerly opened it, but his face froze. The pages were blank.

"Mr. Fox, this is a martial arts manual of the Fox family from Grayvale. Only someone of Fox blood can make the text appear. If an outsider tries to read it, it will appear blank," Lucius explained, sighing. "Otherwise, how could the West family have kept it for so long?"

Dustin immediately bit his finger, letting a drop of blood fall onto the blank paper. Lucius stiffened. In seconds, words appeared on the page.

"You're from the Fox family!" Lucius exclaimed, losing his composure.

"My surname is Fox. I am from the Fox family," Dustin replied indifferently.

Lucius was visibly agitated. "May I ask your name?" he inquired politely, his eyes shining with emotion.

"My name is Dustin Fox," Dustin said calmly.

Thud! Lucius fell to his knees. "I, Lucius West, am at your service, Master Fox!" Tears streamed down his face.

The West family members were stunned, as was Dustin.

"Why 'Master Fox'?" Dustin asked, frowning.

"The West family has always served the Fox family. Without your family's support, I'd be a street vendor," Lucius explained.

Dustin helped Lucius to his feet. "Do you know anything about the Fox family? Tell me everything!" He desperately sought the truth.

Lucius sighed. "The Fox family was destroyed so suddenly. I was not in Honora at the time; otherwise, I would have helped. When I reached Grayvale, the family villa was already in ruins." Dustin frowned. Would he find no clues?

"Your father gave me this manual three days before the Fox family's destruction. He said it would be the key to the family's resurgence. The West family has waited over twenty years—you are finally here!"

"I heard someone from the Fox family survived. Master Fox, your survival is a divine blessing! Now you can avenge your family!" Lucius said, his voice grieving yet firm.

Dustin flipped through the manual, surprised to recognize some of the words. He had learned similar techniques from Lucas, his adoptive father.

"So, he taught me the basics of the Fox family's martial arts manual!" Dustin felt a surge of gratitude and awe. Even the basics had made him this powerful. How extraordinary was the Fox family? How could such a powerful family be destroyed so swiftly? And why hadn't they prepared for their destruction if, as Lucius said, his father had foreseen it?

Too many questions swirled in Dustin's mind. I must uncover the truth behind the Fox family's massacre! he thought, determination hardening his gaze.

"Tell me more about the Fox family," Dustin said, continuing to read the manual.

"The Fox family had an ancient lineage, centuries old. They were the uncrowned kings of Grayvale. Even Lord Barbenheim respected them greatly," Lucius recalled. "They were powerful but kept a low profile, always helping others and supporting their allies—the West family among them. But there were traitors! When the Fox family was attacked, some allies participated in their destruction. The Aquila family of Somerton was one of them!"

Lucius glared fiercely at Clark, as if wanting to kill him. "You suggested my granddaughter marry into the Aquila family for survival! I should kill you now!"

Clark trembled and knelt. "Father, I didn't know! If I had, I would never have suggested it!"

A cold glint appeared in Dustin's eyes. A mastermind had orchestrated the Fox family's destruction, but it seemed their allies had betrayed them—a betrayal even more despicable than the attack itself.

"Lucius, you know who the traitors were. Tell me!" Dustin's voice held a lethal edge. "Not a single one will escape!"
