Chapter 16

Dustin never imagined Amara would end up begging him so soon. She was willing to sacrifice everything to save Elijah. Dustin, well aware of Amara's pride, was surprised.

"What a loving sister you are," he said mockingly. He’d served the Wyatt family for over ten years, practically a slave, yet they’d never treated him with respect. He’d sacrificed much, but they'd never considered him a person. Elijah had only recently been found, yet Amara was already prepared to humiliate herself for him.

"Someone who's given over ten years of his life to your family, versus a blood relative you just met… are they really so different?" Dustin asked.

Amara didn't understand his question. Did he know Dustin?

"No matter how much an outsider contributes, he remains an outsider. But blood is blood, regardless of familiarity. The two are incomparable," Amara said solemnly. A chill settled in Dustin's heart. Was this truly the Wyatt sisters' belief?

"I won't save him, even if you beg," Dustin said indifferently.

"Mr. Foxtin, I beg you! I'll do anything!" Amara cried anxiously.

Dustin remained unmoved. He had no interest in ordering her around or humiliating her further.

"I'm not related to him, and he's an outsider to me. Why should I save him?"

Amara was speechless. Dustin turned and left without looking back. Amara was distressed. Delia watched him go, unable to call after him.

Silence fell on the fifth floor of Moon Pavilion. After a while, people slowly began to leave, the assembled physicians furious at the Wyatt family's deception. Some left angry words behind. Amara and Delia ignored them, watching Elijah cry in pain.

"Were we… really wrong?"

Simone followed the physicians downstairs, unable to find Dustin.

"Let's go, Simone," Dustin called from below.

"Dustin, where were you?" Simone asked worriedly.

"I was in the washroom," he said, using it as an excuse. "So much happened on the fifth floor. It's a shame you missed the mysterious Medical Sage," Simone added happily. Dustin smiled, saying nothing. He led her away from Moon Pavilion.

Upstairs, Elijah fainted from the pain. Amara and Delia's eyes were red with sorrow and anger.

"This is all Dustin's fault! If not for him, Eli wouldn't be suffering! If not for him, we wouldn't have been humiliated!" Amara said viciously.

"That's right! It's all his fault! That cursed Dustin!" Delia added furiously. "We can't let him get away with this!"

Amara paused. "Delia, Dr. Williams seems interested in you. We can use that," she said coldly. "The Williams family of Honora is powerful. They'll have many ways to get rid of Dustin!" Delia nodded, hating Dustin intensely.

Dustin and Simone spent the day at an amusement park, returning to the Langley family villa. Dustin didn't mention the Wyatt sisters, and Simone wisely didn't bring them up.

After dinner, Dustin asked David about the company's progress.

"We received the first half of the payment from the Excelsior Group. Production begins tomorrow," David said, smiling. "After this order, the company will be back on its feet. We might even hit a new milestone!" The Langley family rejoiced, their crisis seemingly over.

A knock interrupted their conversation.

"Seems like we've been having a lot of visitors," David said meaningfully, gesturing to Monique to open the door.

Monique opened the door to a casually dressed young woman with a ponytail.

"Who are you looking for, Miss?"

"I'm Delia Wyatt. I'm here to see Dustin," Delia said coldly.

Monique, puzzled, let her in.

Once inside, Delia glared at Dustin.

"Dustin Fox!"

"Miss Delia, may I ask why you're visiting?" Dustin asked, smiling.

Delia controlled her temper. "Come with me. I have something to say." She stormed outside, Dustin following.

Delia stood on the doorstep, her face stony.

"Dustin, do you know what trouble you've caused?" she asked sarcastically.

"No. Enlighten me, Miss Delia."

"Hah!" Delia scoffed. "You injured Dr. Williams at Moon Pavilion. He's the eldest son of the Williams family from Honora!"

"So?" Dustin remained unfazed.

"Do you know how serious this is?" Delia frowned, incredulous at his lack of concern. This was the Williams family of Honora!

"Dustin, you injured Alvin Williams. Do you think they'll let that go? They'll kill you!" Delia shouted.

"Miss Delia, are you here to warn me?" Dustin asked mockingly.

"You assume too much," Delia said coldly. "I have a personal connection with Alvin. I might be able to save your life, though you might lose a limb or two. But I have conditions: you must tell me how to treat Elijah."

Dustin chuckled. So, this was a deal.

"You hate me, but you're willing to plead with the Williams family to save my life?" he asked mockingly.

"I'd love to see them tear you apart!" Delia said through gritted teeth. "But I'm more worried about saving Eli…"

This wasn't truly her desire; she and Amara planned to abandon Dustin once they learned how to treat Elijah, watching as he was destroyed.

"I'd never have you beg for me, Miss Delia," Dustin said mockingly. "My life is worthless."

Delia's face flushed with anger. He was mocking her.

"I'm giving you an easy way out. Don't throw it away!" Delia said. "The Williams family will crush you."

Dustin's indifference only fueled her anger.

"You won't survive three days. Mark my words!" she threatened.

"Are you sure?" Dustin sneered.

"The Williams family is powerful. You're nothing but a dog the Wyatt family kicked out. What makes you think you can go against them?" Delia said scornfully.

"Let's see," Dustin said, uninterested.

Delia stamped her foot in frustration.

"Dustin, I'll do you a favor. You may not have meant much, but you were a decent dog. I'll make sure you have a good funeral," Delia said viciously.

"I think you'd better plan Dr. Williams' funeral instead," Dustin said flatly. He walked away, leaving her outside.

Delia trembled with rage. "He doesn't know what's coming!" she cursed.
