Chapter 75

“What…what do you want to know?” The leader’s face paled, his eyes filling with terror. He was the only one left, and the threat of death sapped his courage. Dustin’s fierce gaze pressed upon him; after all, he was a terrifying figure who could command even sovereign-grade fighters.

“What exactly is the Wyatt family’s treasure? Why are you seeking it?” Dustin asked, frowning. This question had plagued him for years. Since Lucas’s death, he’d shouldered the task of protecting the Wyatt family, battling countless powerful individuals. From a nobody, he’d become a world-class fighter whose name struck fear into the hearts of martial artists. He’d killed many who coveted the Wyatt family’s treasure—people from various groups and world-class organizations. Yet, he still didn’t know what the treasure was. How valuable could it be to incite such deadly pursuit?

“Don’t you know? It’s rumored the treasure is with you,” the leader said, surprised.

“I don’t. Tell me,” Dustin replied.

The leader was even more confused. Was the treasure not with Dustin?

“It’s said to be a long-lost signet ring. Possessing it grants control over the eight ancient martial families, and it holds a secret leading to further treasure. The owner becomes the richest person in the world.” Dustin raised an eyebrow in surprise.

The eight ancient martial families had a long, storied history, with incredibly strong foundations. Spread across the globe, some even controlled powerful nations. To think a signet ring held such power… and contained further treasure. No wonder so many fought for it. Even as the powerful King of Hades, Dustin had been severely injured fighting countless top-class fighters. He remembered Lucas mentioning a bequest, to be delivered after his death, but Dustin had yet to receive it.

Could Lucas have been referring to this signet ring? If so, Dustin was determined to obtain it.

“We’re going to the Wyatt family,” Dustin said coldly. Drake’s face darkened; he killed the leader. “Kill everyone here!” Hell Guards appeared and swiftly eliminated the Seven Fiends’ headquarters.

Clara smiled faintly as Dustin arrived at the Wyatt family villa. “What’s wrong? Scared of the assassination attempts? Here to beg for mercy?” she mocked.

Dustin glared. He’d come to Clara, not Amara. While Amara seemed in charge, Clara was the Wyatt family’s true backbone; Lucas had told him she was the true heiress.

“Apologize now, and we might consider sparing you,” Clara taunted, her mockery evident. She assumed Dustin had come seeking protection.

Dustin’s face hardened. “Hand it over.”

“What?”

“The item Dad left me!”

Clara sneered. “Dustin, you ungrateful bastard! You betrayed us and still dare ask for something? Father left nothing for you. Even if he did, you’re not getting it!” Dustin’s gaze sharpened. If Clara weren’t Lucas’s daughter, she’d be dead.

“By the way, Father told me something about you… something about your family,” Clara added.

Dustin listened intently. He’d been an orphan since he could remember. Did Lucas know his true identity?

Dustin studied Clara’s mocking gaze. She expected him to beg. His face remained cold; he knew she wouldn’t reveal anything even if he did.

Bored, Clara proposed a deal. “Survive until next year, and I’ll tell you about your family.”

“I’ll outlive all of you,” Dustin said coldly.

Clara laughed, her taunt unwavering. “Dustin… oh, Dustin… if the Wyatt family unleashed its true strength, we’d crush you like an ant!”

Dustin frowned. Hadn’t Lucas stipulated that such strength should only be revealed ten years after his death? It seemed the Wyatt family was defying his wishes, but that was no longer Dustin’s concern.

“We’ll see who lives longer,” Dustin glared. His murderous intensity startled Clara; she took two steps back. Shadow Two stepped before her.

“Attack Miss Clara, and you die today!” Shadow Two threatened. “Don’t challenge the Wyatt family with your worthless life!”

Dustin sneered. “Since when do servants speak?”

Whoosh! A black figure lunged. Shadow Two, chilled by Dustin’s aura, shielded Clara, only to find the figure passing right through him. He felt overwhelming dread, helpless to react.

Bam! Shadow Two fell. Clara’s face froze; the reality of Shadow Two’s death slowly dawned on her.

“Shadow Two!” she cried, enraged and shocked. The black figure had killed her guard. Who was he? Why did he obey Dustin? She’d underestimated him… fear gripped her. With Shadow Two gone, the Wyatt family was vulnerable.

“Since you framed me, consider this a lesson. Do it again, and I won’t be so merciful,” Dustin said coldly.
