Chapter 94

In a ward at Rivenesco First Hospital, Bella used her uninjured hand to make a call.

"Hello, Mr. Xander," she said, a hint of hope in her voice. "Didn't you say you wanted to cast me as the female lead in that drama? Is the offer still on?"

She was on the verge of a mental breakdown. Online insults had nearly driven her to it, and she'd only felt slightly better after Amara had stopped her from going online. But she couldn't hold back, couldn't give up.

An impatient voice snapped from the other end, "Bella, your reputation is ruined! You still want a film? The Broadcasting Board has imposed a ban. No one dares offer you anything. Just be a good citizen and forget about acting!"

Bella's face stiffened. "Mr. Xander, I don't need to be paid! The Broadcasting Board ban only applies domestically. We can release the film internationally after shooting" She desperately clung to the possibility.

Mr. Xander's voice was sharp. "Even if you paid directors, no one would take you! You know your value has plummeted! Don't call me again. I'm busy." Bella's chest heaved with anger.

Not long ago, Mr. Xander had been extremely friendly, promising to grant her any request if she starred in his film. Now, his tone had completely changed.

"Mr. Xander," she warned, "even if I can't act, you'd better not cast Camille Langley. The ratings will tank!"

He sneered. "Tank? You're overreacting. Besides, I'm not sure I can even get my projects off the ground."

Bella's face froze.

"You might want to pay more attention to the news," Mr. Xander said before hanging up.

Confused, Bella turned on the news. She was shocked to see that headlines about her had been relegated to the back pages; Camille dominated the top stories.

  • The victim of the drugging incident, Camille Langley, has gained the favor of Mr. Timm. A top-tier cast has assembled for The Legend of the Swordsman 4, set to begin filming soon!
  • Two years later, Rain Wallace returns with The Legend of the Swordsman 4. Newcomer Camille Langley is confirmed as the lead actress!
  • Strong partnerships and an amazing lineup. Can the newcomer uphold the legacy of The Legend of the Swordsman 4?
  • Newcomer Camille Langley makes her debut, supported by top-tier talent. Several top celebrities are playing supporting roles. She is truly the chosen one!

Bella's eyes burned with fury. She shuddered. How did that little brat deserve this opportunity? Even at the height of her popularity, she couldn't get Horace to work with her. She had repeatedly tried to get involved in The Legend of the Swordsman 4, but Rain had always rejected her. Why? Why would they work with Camille? Camille was far worse than she was! Why wasn't she, Bella Wyatt, the chosen one?

Overwhelmed by rage, the pain in her severed fingers and the blow to her pride finally proved too much. She fainted.

Camille hadn't been home for several days. After her agent, Ruby, spoke with Horace, they decided to complete filming during her summer break. The cast traveled extensively to promote the series.

Today was the official start of filming The Legend of the Swordsman 4 at a Rivenesco studio. Simone got off work early and drove with Dustin to the set, expecting a bustling atmosphere.

As they entered, however, they heard angry shouting.

"How could she? How could a newcomer with no accomplishments get the lead role while I'm stuck with a few lines as a supporting character? I refuse to accept it!" a woman screamed. She pointed at Camille. "Camille Langley, who are you? How did you get the lead role? Who's backing you?" Her voice was aggressive and unpleasant.
