Chapter 10

Even after the Langley family said goodbye to Ronald and the Serpentine Gang leaders, they struggled to comprehend what had transpired.

"The Serpentine Gang members were very polite," David said seriously. "Completely different from before. Politeness isn't exactly in their vocabulary."

The Serpentine Gang, the most dominant gang in Rivenesco, had a fearsome reputation, aside from a single defeat against Elisa a few years prior. This unexpected turn of events mirrored the last. Why their harsh treatment of Elisa contrasted so sharply with their politeness towards the Langley family remained a mystery.

"What's the reason?" David mused, frowning. While a positive development, the situation's strangeness prompted overthinking.

"David, don't overthink it," Dustin said with a smile. "The Langley Group is collaborating with the Excelsior Group. Given the Excelsior Group's reputation, the Serpentine Gang's respect is only natural." David shook his head. "But why would the Excelsior Group approach the Langley Group?"

Businessmen prioritized profit above all else. The Excelsior Group's unsolicited aid during a difficult time was unusual. They likely sought hidden gains. David, a businessman himself, found their explanation unconvincing. What profit could the Langley Group possibly offer? They seemed an unlikely target for the Excelsior Group's interest.

"David, don't complicate things," Dustin said, rubbing his temples. "Maybe it's finally the Langley Group's time to shine." It was indeed difficult to deceive a clever person.

David looked meaningfully at Dustin. "No matter who helps the Langley Group, we'll always remember their kindness. We aren't ungrateful," David said solemnly.

Dustin smiled, feeling slightly helpless. He avoided revealing his identity as the King of Hades to prevent unnecessary complications.

Meanwhile, Elisa angrily returned to the Wyatt family.

"What? Dustin slapped you?" The Wyatt sisters reacted with shock.

"Rubbish! You can't even handle something so small!" Amara snapped, her voice icy. "If you couldn't do it, why make such bold promises?"

Elisa, feeling wronged, began to cry.

"I don't know what got into the Serpentine Gang," she sobbed. "They suddenly turned on me, even flattering a worthless family like the Langleys." Amara's face darkened.

"Alright. Just stay put," she said impatiently.

"Dustin Fox, that bastard! He dares to hurt a Wyatt family member! How insolent!" An icy gleam shone in her eyes.

"Amara, we must make him pay!" the sisters fumed.

"Don't worry. I have a plan," Amara said coldly, still upset about Dustin's previous mistreatment of her at the Langley family home. "The most urgent matter is treating Elijah!"

Delia's face fell. She'd planned to enlist the help of her former teacher, the Medical Sage, but had angered him, resulting in expulsion and being blocked from contacting him. Feeling aggrieved and resentful, she was at a loss.

"Even Delia's out of ideas, and Rivenesco's physicians are hopeless. We need outside help—top-grade physicians," Amara frowned.

She looked at Delia. "Delia, you have to do something."

"Me?" Delia smiled bitterly. "What can I possibly do?"

"The Medical Sage's expulsion isn't official; the news isn't public," Amara whispered.

Delia was stunned.

"Use the Medical Sage's name to summon Lovellia's top physicians to treat Elijah," Amara instructed.

Delia's eyes widened. "Amara… isn't that inappropriate?"

"Do you want to see Elijah suffer?" Amara asked icily.

Delia was speechless.

"I'm helping you," Amara said solemnly. "You can't reach the Medical Sage. This might bring him forward. It might resolve your issue or, at the very least, give you one last chance." Amara's words gave Delia pause. After considering it, she agreed.

Amara immediately posted on the physician's website, ostensibly from the Medical Sage. The message announced a search for outstanding physicians for training, requiring them to cure the youngest Wyatt son to qualify. Interested parties could contact Delia Wyatt, the Sage's student. The post immediately gained significant attention. The Medical Sage's name always generated buzz. Physicians contacted Delia, showering her with flattery. Amara carefully selected several reputable top-grade physicians.

"Elijah will be saved," Amara relaxed, then her face darkened as she called Dustin.

"Amara Wyatt, why do you still have my number?" Dustin's voice was dripping with sarcasm.

"Dustin Fox, don't get cocky," Amara said coldly. "You might have hurt Elijah beyond repair, but the Wyatt family has plenty of physicians. In a few days, many top physicians will arrive to treat Elijah."

Her voice turned threatening. "Your deadline is sunset tomorrow. Apologize to the Wyatt family, and if Elijah forgives you, you'll only lose an arm. Otherwise, you'll face his wrath. This is your last chance. After that, we won't care what happens to you. If you don't come, I'll use the power of the Wyatt family to make you suffer—including Simone Langley and her family!" Amara felt she was being merciful, offering a chance for old times' sake.

"Dustin Fox, you have no choice," Amara said indifferently.

Dustin chuckled. He found the situation amusing. How could Amara be so arrogant and confident?

"Dustin Fox, you really want to die?!" Amara's face darkened at the mockery in his laughter.

"Mr. Elijah Wyatt isn't worthy of my bow, nor are you, Amara, or the entire Wyatt family," Dustin said coldly. "Make me suffer? I'll be waiting." He hung up.

Amara sneered, putting down her phone. "If you want to die, I'll help you!"
