Chapter 102

Ronald was shocked. Someone was watching them from the shadows. He was a sixth-grade fighter, but hadn't noticed.

"The abandoned child of the Wyatt family, huh?" a cold voice hissed from the darkness. A lean, middle-aged man in black stepped forward. He looked gentle, but Ronald instantly sensed a powerful enemy. The man exuded a potent aura, overwhelming Ronald. 'He's at least a ninth-grade fighter!' Ronald thought grimly. Ninth-grade fighters were the elite in Rivenesco and Lovellia, capable of forming their own organizations.

"Who are you?" Dustin asked, his face impassive.

The man sneered. "I'm Gerald Black, leader of Lord Barbenheim's Blackguards."

Ronald's face paled. Lord Barbenheim! The Blackguards' leader was immensely powerful; Lord Barbenheim governed Grayvale, a vast region encompassing Rivenesco, Uevale, and eight other cities. His distance from the capital made him effectively the ruler of Grayvale.

"Might I ask why you are here?" Ronald asked respectfully. As leader of the local criminal organizations, he dared not offend Lord Barbenheim; the Serpentine Gang would be easily destroyed.

Gerald’s gaze was icy. "Lord Barbenheim's son was injured in your territory. Why wouldn't I be here?"

"What?" Ronald gasped, breaking into a sweat. This was disastrous. "Please wait. I'll have the Serpentine Gang investigate!" he said frantically.

"You don't have to," Dustin said coldly. "Lord Barbenheim's son is Alvin Williams, isn't he? He's dead."

The Williams family of Honora, one of the region's most powerful, ruled a vast area. Their head, Lord Barbenheim, was a foreigner. Due to taboos against foreigners ruling regions, most referred to them as the Williams family.

Ronald's face turned ashen. Gerald glared at Dustin. "How did he die?" he demanded savagely.

"I killed him," Dustin said calmly.

Ronald looked like he might faint. The King of Hades had killed Lord Barbenheim's son in his territory! He couldn't afford to offend either man.

Gerald's face contorted with rage, but he didn't attack Dustin. "Alvin left with Blackguards that day. To kill him, you're no ordinary fighter," he said icily. "I won't kill you… yet."

Clang! Gerald tossed two metal objects. "Lord Barbenheim's electric shackles. They feel like countless needles piercing the flesh. No fighter can summon strength while wearing them. Put them on," he said grimly. "Lord Barbenheim is at the Wyatt family. Wear these, apologize, or I destroy your family."

"Lord Barbenheim is here?" Ronald was even more shocked. As the area's crime boss, he'd heard nothing.

"You apologize too!" Gerald snarled. "Alvin died in Rivenesco. The Serpentine Gang is finished!"

Terror consumed Ronald.

Dustin glanced at the shackles, then turned away. "Since Lord Barbenheim's here, I'll naturally meet him," he said, rising.
