Chapter 104
Lord Barbenheim's unexpected arrival at the Wyatt family villa startled the sisters. The ruler of Grayvale, a man of considerable status and command of a vast army, was far above ordinary individuals. The Wyatt sisters, acutely aware of this, immediately responded to the news of his arrival. Amara swiftly led the family out to greet him, their nervousness palpable. Delia's involvement in Alvin's disappearance hung heavy in the air.
The Wyatt family had previously used the Medical Sage's reputation to summon physicians for Elijah. A fight between Alvin and Dustin, instigated by Delia, resulted in Alvin's injury. Alvin's subsequent attempt at revenge with the Blackguards ended with his disappearance, leaving his fate unknown. The Wyatt family feared Lord Barbenheim's investigation would expose their culpability. Amara and Delia, however, had planned to shift the blame entirely onto Dustin.
Lord Barbenheim's ceremonial guards halted at the gate. A middle-aged man in casual attire emerged from a vintage official car. His handsome face and sharp eyes projected an imposing aura that instantly intimidated the Wyatt family. The sisters' hearts sank; this was the unmistakable presence of a ruler, a man accustomed to absolute authority.
"Greetings, Lord Barbenheim," the Wyatt family bowed respectfully, none daring to show disrespect.
Lord Barbenheim's gaze swept across them, lingering momentarily on the sisters, leaving them tense under his scrutiny.
"Welcome to our humble home. We are honored by your presence," Amara said, bowing deeply.
Lord Barbenheim remained silent, his stare making her uneasy. After a moment, he entered the villa, prompting a collective sigh of relief from the Wyatt sisters, who hurried to follow.
He seated himself on a single-seater sofa in the living room, leaving the sisters standing, too intimidated to sit. A heavy silence descended.
After a protracted silence, Delia, summoning her courage, spoke, "Your Highness, your son's troubles stemmed from his encounter with Dustin Fox. It is entirely his fault! Capturing him might reveal your son's whereabouts."
Lord Barbenheim, speaking for the first time, replied flatly, yet menacingly, "I will not spare anyone who deserves to die." The Wyatt sisters trembled.
A sudden announcement shattered the tension. "Your Highness, Dustin Fox is outside!"
The Wyatt sisters exchanged delighted glances; Dustin's demise seemed imminent.
Lord Barbenheim's soldiers stood guard outside. Dustin approached, ignoring them.
"Halt!" a soldier commanded, rifle raised.
Elisa, emerging from the villa, sneered, "How dare you come here, Dustin? Lord Barbenheim commands that you crawl to his feet!" She relished the prospect of his suffering and humiliation.
Dustin merely sneered. No one could make him crawl.
"Those who obstruct me will die," Dustin stated icily, advancing.
The soldier, enraged, raised his rifle to fire. Instantly, all the guards standing guard were felled, bleeding from slit throats, their eyes wide open.
