Chapter 106
Even within Lord Barbenheim's forces, ninth-grade fighters were rare elites. Hugh Howard's death exceeded Lord Barbenheim's expectations, but a meaningful smile played on his lips. "Seems Lucas finally found a worthy student," he remarked.
The Wyatt sisters remained silent. Dustin was decimating Lord Barbenheim's soldiers at the Wyatt family villa. They feared Lord Barbenheim would raze the place in retaliation. The Wyatt family, currently weak, was no match for him.
Soon, footsteps approached. Dustin entered, his face impassive. Lord Barbenheim met his gaze with cold indifference. Lord Barbenheim's intimidating presence usually sent shivers down spines, but it had no effect on Dustin.
"Dustin! How dare you? Why aren't you addressing Lord Barbenheim?" Amara snapped, stepping forward. They were nervous around Lord Barbenheim, but felt no such pressure with Dustin; they felt comfortable enough to yell at him. "Kneel!" she demanded.
"Do you have a death wish?! Why are you so insolent?!" The Wyatt sisters, acting as Lord Barbenheim's lackeys, demanded answers and insisted Dustin kneel.
Dustin offered a mocking glance. Did they truly believe Lord Barbenheim was only interested in Alvin? Their naiveté was astounding. He didn't bother arguing; he simply stared at Lord Barbenheim through narrowed eyes.
This was a man who had fought in countless wars, accumulating numerous achievements that earned him his title. Tales of his invincibility still echoed throughout Lovellia.

He ruled Grayvale, commanding a vast army and serving as a powerful pillar of strength for Lowell. He exuded a powerful aura.
"Are you Dustin Fox?" Lord Barbenheim scrutinized Dustin, impressed. "To think you were expelled from the Wyatt family. I wouldn't be exaggerating to say they're blind." The Wyatt sisters stiffened. They couldn't understand Lord Barbenheim's high regard for Dustin. To them, he remained as useless and annoying as ever, and they didn't regret their decision to expel him.
"I didn't expect you to covet others' possessions, Lord Barbenheim," Dustin retorted mockingly.
"How rude! How dare you speak to Lord Barbenheim like that?" Amara shrieked.
"And you're an idiot! Shut up!" Dustin's anger finally erupted. "This man's here to steal your treasure, and you're fawning over him! If my adoptive father knew, he'd be turning in his grave."
The Wyatt sisters' faces hardened. They believed Lord Barbenheim was there to capture and punish Dustin, and were celebrating his imminent downfall. Clara, however, frowned. The smartest of the sisters, she suspected something but remained calm, already formulating a plan.
Lord Barbenheim chuckled. "The Wyatt family's treasure grants its wielder control over the ancient martial families and access to the world's greatest treasure," he explained meaningfully. "As a mere mortal, I naturally find it tempting."
The Wyatt sisters' faces fell. They had invited a lion into their den. No wonder Dustin had called them stupid and naive.
