Chapter 129 (+25 Bonus)
Dustin, a Wyatt family member, had insulted Derek, causing him significant distress. Unable to retaliate, Derek returned to the Langley family to report the incident.
"What? He wants me to go?" Mar screamed, leaping to her feet and slamming her cane on the floor with such force that it nearly made a hole.
"That Wyatt trash insulted us while living under David's roof! He not only hit Christian again but was also incredibly aggressive and annoying!" Derek exclaimed angrily. Margot's face darkened.
She was reluctant to involve David. First, her pride prevented it; second, she refused to give Dustin what he wanted.
"Mom, what will you do?" Derek sighed, his question hanging in the air.
All eyes turned to Margot. Their family's fate rested on her decision.
Margot's expression shifted rapidly, finally settling into one of resignation. "Everyone, come with me to David's place."
Dustin stood defiantly at the gate to David's home, the Langley family glaring at him with animosity.
"Well? Are you ready?" Dustin taunted.
Margot's face burned with rage; the Langley family members felt like throttling Dustin.
"Call them out. I know what to do," Margot hissed.
Dustin smirked, dispatching his Hell Guard to retrieve the family. Soon, David and his family emerged, shocked to see the entire Langley family waiting. Unaware of the events, they assumed Margot had come to berate them further.
"What else do you want, Mom?" David sighed.
Margot composed herself, forcing a smile. "David, we're sorry. We came to ask you all to return to the family." She strove for a gentle tone.
"What?!" David and his family were stunned. Margot had brought the entire family to invite them back?
They stared at each other, speechless, feeling as if they were dreaming. They knew Margot's stubborn pride; compromising with her felt as improbable as pigs flying. Yet, here she was, setting aside her pride to apologize! Could pigs actually fly this time?
"Mom, what's wrong? What happened?" David nervously asked, sensing a shift in the Langley family dynamics.
"It's nothing. We just… never expected your family to be so influential," Margot said stiffly. "You managed to involve the underground world and the law—it's terrifying. If you had that kind of influence, you should have told us sooner. These misunderstandings wouldn't have happened."
David and his family were even more perplexed. How could they have exerted enough influence to enlist the aid of two such powerful and opposing forces? They were desperate to understand.
"We were wrong. As head of the Langley family, I take responsibility and sincerely apologize. Please come back to us," Margot bowed deeply.
David and his family, shocked, rushed to prevent her from bowing.
"I'll let you lead the Langley Group and manage Heavenly Will Bazaar," Margot declared seriously. "I'll step down in a few days. You'll be in charge of the family." David and his family stared in disbelief.
Not only had Margot apologized, but she was making enormous concessions! She was handing over Heavenly Will Bazaar, previously under Derek's control. Why?
