Chapter 34

The Verdant Gang's headquarters were located in a city west of Rivenesco. When the helicopter landed, Dustin shoved Bella out, sending her face-first into the dirt. "You crazy bastard!" she screamed, disheveled and furious. Dustin had killed the Hell Messenger before dragging her into the helicopter and flying straight to the headquarters.

The Verdant Gang was a powerful force, their headquarters a veritable lion's den. Why had Dustin dared to come here? Was he planning to storm it alone?

"Who's there?"

Gang members rushed out, guns drawn. Terrified, Bella raised her hands in surrender.

"This is Dustin Fox! He killed Mr. Grant and the Hell Messenger! Catch him!" she cried.

"What? He killed a Hell Messenger?" The gang members were shocked. The Hell Messengers were the Verdant Gang's most powerful asset. How could one be killed so easily? "You insolent bastard! Die!" More than a dozen guns were pointed at Dustin.

He smiled.

Whoosh!

A black figure appeared, moving with impossible speed. "Ah!!!" Screams erupted as gang members fell, one after another. They fired their weapons, but it was useless. In moments, they were all dead.

"My Liege, I'm here to fulfill your orders," Drake said respectfully, kneeling before Dustin. Dustin nodded. Bella stared, stunned. Someone unafraid of guns showed such deference to Dustin? And why was he called "My Liege"? Who was Dustin?

She had no time to ponder. Dustin dragged her through the gates of the headquarters. Gang members charged out, but Drake swiftly dispatched them.

Bella was shocked. Drake was terrifying; killing seemed effortless, almost monstrous. She couldn't comprehend how such a person served Dustin.

News of their arrival reached the top brass.

"Well, well… Dustin. Aren't you amazing?"

"Bring them to the main hall," Lloyd Gray, the Verdant Gang's leader, commanded. It had been a long time since anyone had dared to challenge them directly—and all who had, were dead.

Soon, Dustin, Drake, and Bella stood in the vast main hall, surrounded by a sea of intimidating faces. The Verdant Gang's executives sat on a raised platform. All were notorious for their ruthlessness. Lloyd Gray sat in a leather chair, looking down at them.

Under their fierce gazes, Bella held her breath. Usually domineering, she was now terrified.

"Which of you is Dustin Fox?" Lloyd asked icily.

Seeing Dustin remained silent, Bella pointed, stammering, "H-He is…" She feared Lloyd's displeasure would result in a deadly crossfire.

"He did everything! It's not my fault!" she cried, distancing herself. "Dustin's been kicked out of the Wyatt family! We don't know what he's been doing!"

Lloyd ignored her, his gaze fixed on Dustin.

"Why don't you greet our leader, you insolent bastard?!" an executive roared.

Dustin shot an icy look at Drake.

Whoosh!

Drake moved like an arrow. Blood spurted from the executive's neck as he collapsed.

The gang members were shocked and enraged. Bella's face paled. Even here, they dared to kill!

"Three of you, daring to invade my headquarters? You're bold," Lloyd said frostily.

"They dragged me here! I didn't want to come!" Bella frantically insisted.

"She's too noisy. Shut her up," Lloyd snarled.

Bang!

A gunshot echoed. Bella stared at the bullet, inches from her forehead, stopped by Dustin's hand. He had saved her. She felt fear, shock, and disbelief.

"You can't die yet," Dustin said coldly.

The executives were shocked. Lloyd narrowed his eyes. Catching a bullet was impossible for an ordinary person.

"Dustin Fox, the discarded son of the Wyatt family…" Lloyd laughed. "How could they disown him? Are you all blind?"

Bella's face soured. It was true. Why had Dustin pretended to be useless for over a decade? If he'd revealed his abilities earlier, they wouldn't be in this mess. Resentment flared.

"Seems we've encountered someone powerful," Lloyd smiled, clapping his hands. More gang members poured in. Bella trembled. They were trapped. She cursed Dustin for bringing her here.

No matter her explanations, the gang believed she was with him. Escape was impossible.

"I wonder… how long you three will last?" Lloyd taunted. Numbers would win, and the Verdant Gang had plenty.

"We're not alone," Dustin said coldly.

"Oh?" Lloyd raised an eyebrow.

"How many did you bring? Summon them," Lloyd said, settling deeper into his chair.

"Your hall won't hold them all," Dustin mocked.

The executives laughed, full of scorn.

"How arrogant!"

"Such a lie! Your nose will grow longer."

Lloyd chuckled, remaining calm. "The hall is vast. Summon them."

"Fine," Dustin said. "Come out!"

Boom! Rumble!

A deafening sound filled the hall; the floor trembled. The gang members were shocked. Was it an earthquake?

"The King of Hades's Army, are you here?!" Dustin shouted.

"Yes!"

From every direction, murderous shouts echoed in unison.
