Chapter 43

“Klein?!”

“Dad?”

Klein’s actions shocked the Zimmer family. He, always competitive and strong-willed, never bowed to anyone. Their bewilderment was palpable: why would he show such deference to Jack’s attacker? Was he intimidated by Drake’s strength? Impossible! Klein would rather die than submit.

He gestured for silence, his back drenched in cold sweat. One more step from Drake, and he would have been dead. Drake’s strength was terrifying—a sovereign-grade fighter! Klein couldn’t fathom the power needed to command such a warrior. This individual could easily destroy the entire Zimmer family.

Jack slowly awoke in the hall, his eyes widening at the sight of Dustin nearby.

“Why are you here?” he panicked. Then, seeing the Zimmer family and Klein, his smugness returned. “I told you the Zimmer family wouldn’t forgive you!” he sneered. “Grandpa, he hurt me! Don’t forgive him!” he shouted, demanding vengeance.

“Quiet!” Klein roared, his face dark.

Jack was stunned. “Grandpa…?”

“Apologize to Mr. Fox! And mean it!” Klein commanded.

Jack stared, incredulous. Klein wasn’t just refusing revenge; he was ordering him to apologize? “But why?! I don’t understand!” Jack’s voice trembled. He’d been badly hurt, practically crippled!

“If you don’t apologize, I’ll kill you myself!” Klein’s face was cold and fierce, brooking no disobedience.

Terror gripped Jack and the other Zimmer family members.

“I’ll do it!” Jack said, looking at Dustin with reluctance and helplessness. “I was ignorant. Please forgive me,” he muttered through gritted teeth.

Dustin chuckled. Dealing with such brats was beneath him. “At least you have some sense,” he said indifferently. “I guess I’ll let you live.”

He stood and left. His visit had been a warning to the Zimmer family. Amara, with her perceived brilliance, would soon face the consequences of her actions.

Silence descended upon the Zimmer family after Dustin’s departure. Klein sighed, collapsing into a chair.

“What’s wrong, Dad?” The family members, shocked, gathered around him.

“Do you have any idea how easily our family could have been ruined?” Klein asked, his heart still pounding. “What?” they exclaimed in disbelief.

“Who is Dustin? Why were you so scared?” someone asked, shocked.

Klein’s face was solemn. “Drake… he could have killed me with one attack. He’s a sovereign-grade fighter—one in a million,” he whispered.

The Zimmer family was speechless. A sovereign-grade fighter? Rare elites in Lovellia. And so young? They froze. That fighter had addressed Dustin as “My Liege” and served him willingly.

Panic seized the Zimmer family.
