Chapter 53

The art exhibit, a major event featuring many renowned artists, was held at the Rivenesco Convention Center. The star of the show was Rivenesco's own Clara Wyatt, an accomplished calligrapher, painter, and writer whose work graced Lovellia's international museums. Beautiful and a descendant of prominent figures, she was a uniquely sought-after rising star in the art world. The other artists paled in comparison; she was the undeniable centerpiece.

Many admirers attended on opening day, filling the venue with Clara's enthusiastic fans. While not a celebrity in the traditional sense, her fame rivaled that of some A-list actors.

Dustin brought Simone to the convention center. He knew Clara's invitation, delivered via Shadow Two, was insincere; yet, he still came. He had single-handedly crafted the Wyatt sisters' legendary status in their respective fields, and this was a significant day for Clara. He also saw it as a welcome opportunity to relax Simone, who was exhausted from work.

"Sir, Miss, these are VIP diamond tickets. You may enter the fourth-floor hall, which offers exclusive auction rights. Please follow me," a staff member said respectfully, acknowledging their tickets.

Dustin was surprised by Clara's generosity. They followed the staff to a luxurious exhibition hall on the fourth floor, filled with renowned artists and glamorously dressed elite attendees. It resembled a gala more than an art exhibition. In contrast, Dustin was underdressed, but Simone's simple yet stylish outfit stood out amidst the opulent displays. Their appearance immediately attracted attention.

Nearby, three impeccably dressed young men, whose clothing alone cost at least a million dollars, eyed Simone. Her beauty was striking, but it was her quiet grace that truly captivated; unlike the gaudiness of the other socialites, she wore light makeup and an understated yet distinctive dress. The young men then noticed Dustin's simple attire, a stark contrast to his surroundings. They exchanged glances and approached.

"Miss, are you from Rivenesco?" one asked with a smile. "You're remarkable. I've met all of Rivenesco's most eligible young ladies, and I don't recall ever seeing you. It's a shame. If you don't mind, we should introduce ourselves."

Their politeness was deceptive.

"My name is Simone Langley. This is Dustin Fox. We're ordinary people; we don't belong in this social circle," Simone politely refused.

Her response piqued their interest further. Dustin frowned. He suspected Clara had sent these wealthy playboys to cause trouble, though the scheme seemed even beneath her. His medical expertise and acute sense of smell detected a faint scent of Amorgenzia powder on them—a rare and potent aphrodisiac that induced total amnesia in its victims. Its presence signaled a far more sinister plot.
