Chapter 97
Horace wasn't interested in hearing her. He approached Dustin.
"Mr. Fox, I sincerely apologize. I was inside discussing production matters with several producers and wasn't aware of what was happening outside," Horace said apologetically. "I assure you this will never happen again!" A stunned silence fell over the set.
Everyone looked shocked. Was this truly the rumored "Steely Director"? Given his status and reputation, he didn't even bother with Central Harbor's big shots, yet he was bowing and apologizing to an unknown youth! The entire crew was stunned. This would undoubtedly make headlines!
Rachel's eyes widened. Who was this guy? Why was Mr. Timm so deferential? Simone and Camille were equally shocked. They'd assumed Horace accepted the film because he knew Dustin, suggesting Dustin held a higher position. How could someone with no entertainment industry experience wield such power?
"Oh, I forgot to mentionMr. Fox is the sole investor in the drama," Horace said calmly, glancing at the crowd.
"What?!"
Chapter 7
Everyone was shocked. An investor held higher status than most, but not enough to humble top celebrities. However, Horace's respectful demeanor toward this investor indicated immense power. Everyone racked their brains, unable to identify the young investor. They regretted their actions, wishing they hadn't antagonized Camille.
"How did you select these people? Replace the entire cast!" Dustin said coldly.
"I wasn't directly involved in casting, but it's still my fault," Horace admitted, nodding.
"You all can pack up and leave!" His face darkened as he addressed the others.
"Mr. Timm it wasn't our fault!" Some remained silent, while others who hadn't attacked Dustin or Camille pleaded their case. The Legend of the Swordsman 4 was highly anticipated, making the opportunity valuable. Provoking Mr. Timm, however, risked their future careers.
"When the lead actress was humiliated, none of you spoke up? Get lost! Your names won't be welcome on any project I work on!" Everyone's faces paled. Rachel's outburst had cost them their jobs. Replacing a cast mid-production was unheard of.
Chapter 9
The Legend of the Swordsman 4 wasn't an ordinary production. With Horace's status and connections, replacements would be easily found. Rachel watched the cast leave, sighing regretfully. She never expected this outcome. Some dismissed actors would surely resent her, and she couldn't afford to offend anyone influential.
"Why are you still here?" Dustin glared at her.
"I.." Rachel, her arrogance gone, attempted placating words.
"Someone! Throw her out!" Dustin waved dismissively.
At the Rivenesco studio entrance, Rachel was thrown into a ditch, covered in mud. The pointing fingers and paparazzi flashes filled her with humiliation and panic. Screaming, she fled the crowd, consumed by hatred.
"I won't let this slide!"
