Chapter 131: Hello, I’m Mya’s Dad

They were so embarrassed by this unexpected turn of events that they didn't know how to continue the conversation. Just then, the professor from Craydon University, surrounded by a crowd, seemed to have found the person he was looking for. A joyful smile appeared on his face as he pushed through the crowd, saying, “Excuse me, let me through.”

The elites of Melcester made way, one after another. Stephanie was pushed aside. Luther and others watched in disbelief as the professor, whom they thought was there specifically for them, walked through the crowd towards the student seats on the stairs. Many students had left the auditorium, but a small group hadn't managed to leave yet, for various reasons. Upon suddenly seeing the professor, who had been speaking with the leaders, coming their way, everyone stopped chatting and looked in his direction.

Myrna had just seen a new text message: “Mya, had you arrived? Let’s have lunch together at noon.” She was still looking down, replying to messages, when she heard someone call her name and looked up.

“Mya.”

Who was Charles, if not someone they hadn’t seen in a long time? At that moment, Charles had changed his serious expression on the podium, wearing a nervous and ingratiating smile. Just like an ordinary father facing his long-lost daughter, he was somewhat at a loss, not knowing where to put his hands and feet.

People from Class A were originally discussing going out to eat together when suddenly they saw a professor from Craydon University walk up to Myrna and affectionately call her by name. One by one, their jaws almost dropped.

What was the situation then? Why did the professor from Craydon University ignore Stephanie and come looking for their family member, Myrna?

This was the first time Charles had been alone with his daughter, and he was at a loss for words, not knowing what to say to her. Seeing her right hand still not picking up the clipboard, a hint of heartache flashed in his eyes. He explained dryly, “I received a call from your principal and was supposed to come back the same day, but I was tied up with a meeting that I couldn’t get out of.”

“All the academic reports were with me, and no one could make the final summary presentation after I left.” “Everyone had been involved in this project for five years; it was the result of many people’s hard work. I couldn’t just selfishly walk away…” Although he really wanted to leave at that time, he even bought a plane ticket.

Was I hearing things? It must have been my ears playing tricks. Surprisingly, I heard that the big shot from Nemmington was Myrna’s father! It wasn’t the uncle, the neighbor, or a passerby; it was Dad!

Charles didn’t realize the magnitude of the bombshell he had just dropped. He even took the initiative to say to the stunned people of Class A, “You haven’t had lunch yet, have you? Would you like to join us for a meal later? It’s on me. I haven’t been in Melcester; thank you for taking care of her in my absence.”
