Chapter 255: Is Myrna’s Action Considered a Fight or Intentional Harm?

Leann couldn’t believe it. She walked over and forcefully pulled her hand away, and sure enough, she saw a handprint on her delicate skin. Flames flickered in her eyes as she angrily asked, “Who on earth did this? Who made you look like this?”

Normally, if she cared so much about herself, Stephanie might have been touched, but at the moment, she just wanted to minimize the situation. She didn’t want to make things worse. So she grabbed Leann, stopping her from making a scene, and said with patient humiliation, “Mom, I’m really fine. I just accidentally bumped into something, and I’m already okay…”

She hadn’t finished speaking when Leann suddenly interrupted and exclaimed, “Is it Myrna?”

“Um…” Stephanie’s eyes flickered. As her eyes dodged, Leann had an answer in her mind, and she was so angry she almost exploded, wishing to immediately settle the score with Myrna. “Why did she hit you?”

She never liked Myrna. In their house, Myrna was like an outsider; she didn’t talk much and always had a stern face. That’s fine, but those eyes were born to speak. The pitch-blackness stared at you, as if all the demons and monsters in your heart were revealed with just one glance.

Who would like someone like that, always hanging around? People say that even if you raise a dog, you will develop feelings after three to five years. But she couldn’t develop any feelings towards Myrna, even though she had raised her for eighteen years. She only felt rejection and disgust towards the additional “cheap daughter” in the family.

Today, she, who had always rejected, despised, and even looked down upon her “daughter,” humiliated them in front of half of Melcester’s social circle they had invited, trampling their dignity on the ground. She had already been angry and embarrassed.

Myrna even hit Stephie! How could she bear it? Myrna wasn’t slapping their faces; she was stepping on their heads and doing whatever she pleased!

Leann touched Stephanie’s crimson face, feeling sorry for her. She was so angry that tears welled up in her eyes, along with her heartache. “You were spoiled by us since you were little. Both your dad and I couldn’t bear to lay a finger on you. What reason does she have to hit you?”

“I…” Everyone was watching. Stephanie’s throat seemed to be stuck, and she couldn’t say a word. What could she say? Tell Leann and the whole compartment of people?

She was embarrassed because she wanted to show off today but ended up being humiliated. She bumped into Myrna in the restroom and, in a fit of anger, she went to confront her and said some hurtful words. Who knew that Myrna didn’t give her face and slapped her directly? She still told the people in the full compartment that she had originally wanted to fight back, but her wrist was grabbed by someone, and she was thrown away like garbage. And she even warned her with the award-winning incident.

Stephanie couldn’t say a word, looking at the crowded room; her throat burned, and for the first time, she felt that Leann talked too much. She avoided Leann’s questioning with a somewhat evasive look, turning her face away and refusing to let Leann touch her face, unwilling to confront her directly. “Mom, please stop asking. I said I bumped into something myself; why do you have to find a reason behind it?”

Her reaction, in the eyes of others, turned into her being hit by Myrna and speaking up for Myrna, always defending the “person who hit others.”

Oliva snorted coldly at this moment and whispered, “Oh, what a fine student Melcester Central High School has produced. Both of them have harmed their fellow classmates. Abbey ended up in jail and still hasn’t been released. She randomly assaulted her fellow classmates outside of school. What kind of situation is this? Intentional harm or fighting?”
