Chapter 86: Not Answering Stephanie’s Call

At that moment, Calvin saw what she was holding in her hand. His eyes narrowed slightly as he asked, “What is this?”

“This?” Myrna waved the item. “An invitation. Someone just came to tell me that Mrs. Olivalerring is having a birthday and they want me to attend.”

“The Herring family?” Calvin repeated the words in his mind, not too surprised. The Herring family made a big fuss this time, and he also received an invitation. They probably sent one to Myrna because Oliva had run into her at the Watershed Restaurant last time.

Calvin lightly tapped his chin. “Since the Herring family has sent you an invitation, you can go if you want to.”

Myrna had never considered going. After all, if she did go, she would definitely run into the Stark family. But Oliva knew her grandfather, and they were old friends, so she hadn’t made up her mind yet: “We’ll see when the time comes.”

After eating, Myrna and Calvin accompanied Alfredo back to the hospital and visited Erick, who was still in the intensive care unit. Monica and Adrian were both there. Myrna spoke with them briefly, then left.

She returned to the villa and went up to the second floor. She opened her laptop and replied to “Tiny Waist Complex’s” message, telling him she would double the original price she had offered to see what he would say.

Myrna had just replied to the message when she saw the phone on the desk ringing. Upon looking, it was a call from Stephanie. What was Stephanie looking for? She frowned and hung up immediately.

Just then, the message box on her notebook flashed. It was Tiny Waist Complex replying to her message. She hadn’t had a chance to click on it when Stephanie’s call came through again.

“Hum…” The phone stubbornly vibrated on the table. Damn. A wave of inexplicable irritation washed over Myrna. Enough was enough!

Her gaze shifted from the notebook to her phone. She crossed her legs, picked up the phone and hung up again. This time, she waited a few seconds before hastily putting down the phone. Sure enough, Stephanie’s third call came through!

“Ha!” The rebellious spirit in her eyes was about to burst out, and her pale fingers straightforwardly hung up the phone again. She wanted to see how many phone calls Stephanie could make.

In a restaurant not far from Melcester Central High School, Elaine had reserved a private room to treat Stephanie to a meal. Stephanie had also called Abbey over. Three people ordered a table full of dishes, but the food remained largely untouched as they all stared at Stephanie making a phone call.

Ever since Elaine corrected the papers yesterday and found out that Class A had crushed their class in the start-of-term exam, she hadn’t been able to sleep well. She even took a sick leave today and didn’t dare go to school. It wasn’t until school was over in the evening that she specifically called Stephanie, inviting her to dine at a restaurant outside of school. They said it was for a meal, but it was actually to seek help from Stephanie.

Since she was elected as the outstanding class advisor in the city, her teaching career had always been smooth sailing. This was the first time she had ever lost so much face. Losing was just accepted. Hattie had previously made a bet stating that if she lost, she would have to apologize to Myrna, Adrian, and others. Having a woman in her thirties apologize to a few students—what would that look like?

Elaine, feeling embarrassed and… As long as Myrna didn’t need her, she wouldn’t have much else to say. Seeing that Stephanie had…
