Chapter 176
Ashley was completely confused, but he did as he was told.
However, he wasnโt as fast as Shannon. He still hadnโt sent Chris the information he wanted when Chris was about to go to bed.
โIf I had known earlier, I wouldโve asked Shannon to help me. Everyone has their specialty โ Ashley really isnโt cut out for this line of work,โ said Chris as he hugged Jessica and they fell asleep.
Jessica raised her hand and pinched Chrisโs waist, โEnough already, even Roy didnโt put in so much effort. Why are you so worried about Nina? Iโm getting jealous!โ
This was naturally a joke. Chris knew she wouldnโt actually get jealous over Nina and didnโt take it seriously. He only said, โRoy is always busy with his team. He doesnโt have that much time to care for Nina. When something happens, all he knows is to call and have a go at her. I have to make sure I know everything about Matthew.โ
Jessica leaned against Chrisโs chest, sighed, and said softly, โI really didnโt expect you to get this worked up. I told you, itโs just hype. They might not have even slept in the same room when they went into the hotel.โ
According to their methods, someone would have already booked another room early on. After entering together and going upstairs, they wouldnโt actually enter the same room.
High-end hotels pay a lot of attention to privacy and wouldnโt let paparazzi sneak in, so the paparazzi could only wait outside for news.
They saw the two entering and leaving together, and assumed they spent the night together. They wouldnโt have seen anything.
โIs that so?โ Chris found it unbelievable.
Jessica said, โThese are all PR tactics. Iโve used them before too. Didnโt people photograph me and Michael going on a business trip? They said we entered a hotel, but Shannon and Eric were right behind us. The paparazzi didnโt even notice the two of them at all.โ
These were necessary exposure tactics, which Jessica had used many times.
But Chris didnโt understand this industry or the role of commercial exposure.
Thinking about the Summit Infirmary going public next year and moving toward commercialization, Jessica felt that maybe this would be useful for him too.
โBy the way, Francesca said that during the New Year, there will be visitors. Are you okay with us being together then?โ
Jessica asked, โYou mean our marital relationship?โ
โYeah.โ
โIt would only be a problem if I let you take that position with us not being married. You donโt want too many people at the hospital to know about us, but in business, thereโs a focus. If you and I are a married couple, theyโll value the Wilder Groupโs worth more and overestimate the Summit Infirmaryโs ability โ itโs all connected.โ
It might sound simple, but Chris still couldnโt fully understand what Jessica had said.
So he could only do as Francesca said โ be a mascot at home, just sit there and keep up appearances when visitors come.
Anyway, Francesca would help him handle things.
โDo you think itโs bad that I rely on Francesca so much?โ
โWhatโs bad about it?โ Jessica had already closed her eyes, feeling the familiar and reassuring scent on Chris.
โI had Francesca go to the Summit Infirmary to handle everything for you. Actually, sheโs basically the deputy general manager there, like Jadenโs status at Hurricane Media. โPersonal secretaryโ is just a title for show.โ
The treatment and salary she gave Francesca were fully according to a company deputy general manager.
The Summit Infirmary was really complicated. After successfully being listed, they would still need to find an assistant for Francesca.
Otherwise, she simply couldnโt handle it all by herself.
They had put up many decorations at all.
Jessica didnโt have time to arrange these things โ Chris had been adding them bit by bit, even bringing home two pots of flowers.
