Chapter 176

Ashley was completely confused, but he did as he was told.

However, he wasnโ€™t as fast as Shannon. He still hadnโ€™t sent Chris the information he wanted when Chris was about to go to bed.

โ€œIf I had known earlier, I wouldโ€™ve asked Shannon to help me. Everyone has their specialty โ€“ Ashley really isnโ€™t cut out for this line of work,โ€ said Chris as he hugged Jessica and they fell asleep.

Jessica raised her hand and pinched Chrisโ€™s waist, โ€œEnough already, even Roy didnโ€™t put in so much effort. Why are you so worried about Nina? Iโ€™m getting jealous!โ€

This was naturally a joke. Chris knew she wouldnโ€™t actually get jealous over Nina and didnโ€™t take it seriously. He only said, โ€œRoy is always busy with his team. He doesnโ€™t have that much time to care for Nina. When something happens, all he knows is to call and have a go at her. I have to make sure I know everything about Matthew.โ€

Jessica leaned against Chrisโ€™s chest, sighed, and said softly, โ€œI really didnโ€™t expect you to get this worked up. I told you, itโ€™s just hype. They might not have even slept in the same room when they went into the hotel.โ€

According to their methods, someone would have already booked another room early on. After entering together and going upstairs, they wouldnโ€™t actually enter the same room.

High-end hotels pay a lot of attention to privacy and wouldnโ€™t let paparazzi sneak in, so the paparazzi could only wait outside for news.

They saw the two entering and leaving together, and assumed they spent the night together. They wouldnโ€™t have seen anything.

โ€œIs that so?โ€ Chris found it unbelievable.

Jessica said, โ€œThese are all PR tactics. Iโ€™ve used them before too. Didnโ€™t people photograph me and Michael going on a business trip? They said we entered a hotel, but Shannon and Eric were right behind us. The paparazzi didnโ€™t even notice the two of them at all.โ€

These were necessary exposure tactics, which Jessica had used many times.

But Chris didnโ€™t understand this industry or the role of commercial exposure.

Thinking about the Summit Infirmary going public next year and moving toward commercialization, Jessica felt that maybe this would be useful for him too.

โ€œBy the way, Francesca said that during the New Year, there will be visitors. Are you okay with us being together then?โ€

Jessica asked, โ€œYou mean our marital relationship?โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€

โ€œIt would only be a problem if I let you take that position with us not being married. You donโ€™t want too many people at the hospital to know about us, but in business, thereโ€™s a focus. If you and I are a married couple, theyโ€™ll value the Wilder Groupโ€™s worth more and overestimate the Summit Infirmaryโ€™s ability โ€“ itโ€™s all connected.โ€

It might sound simple, but Chris still couldnโ€™t fully understand what Jessica had said.

So he could only do as Francesca said โ€“ be a mascot at home, just sit there and keep up appearances when visitors come.

Anyway, Francesca would help him handle things.

โ€œDo you think itโ€™s bad that I rely on Francesca so much?โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s bad about it?โ€ Jessica had already closed her eyes, feeling the familiar and reassuring scent on Chris.

โ€œI had Francesca go to the Summit Infirmary to handle everything for you. Actually, sheโ€™s basically the deputy general manager there, like Jadenโ€™s status at Hurricane Media. โ€˜Personal secretaryโ€™ is just a title for show.โ€

The treatment and salary she gave Francesca were fully according to a company deputy general manager.

The Summit Infirmary was really complicated. After successfully being listed, they would still need to find an assistant for Francesca.

Otherwise, she simply couldnโ€™t handle it all by herself.

They had put up many decorations at all.

Jessica didnโ€™t have time to arrange these things โ€“ Chris had been adding them bit by bit, even bringing home two pots of flowers.
