Chapter 196

When they arrived, they didn’t look very happy – probably because they had been nagged by their family. The others could tell when they went to visit Nina.

Madam Felton said Jessica and Nina were about the same age, but the former had already been married for five years. She wondered why Roy and Nina were still single, and when they would finally have great-grandchildren to hold.

They had been scolded at home for a long time.

Actually, Nina’s status meant she couldn’t get married easily. It was best if she found someone in the entertainment industry. Her words and actions all had to meet the standards of the industry, or else she could easily bring trouble to FN.

As for Roy, it was even more difficult.

His only lover was the police station.

He hardly ever went home, spending all day at the station with mostly male colleagues. Finding a girl to date was almost impossible.

“You guys are married. You have no idea how hard it is for us. At home, it’s either nagging or whispering behind our backs. If it weren’t for the New Year, I wouldn’t go home at all. Luckily, Grandma will visit Grandpa in a few days.”

Jessica and Chris exchanged glances, and the latter said, “Nothing’s changed even after you’re married. Mom wants us to have kids. I said I’m busy with work, and my mother-in-law said that’s just an excuse. She said that she always had time to have kids no matter how busy she was.”

Jaden said, “Honestly, when I was born, my dad hadn’t fully stepped down yet. There were still so many things to handle, and he had to keep an eye on those people trying to find me and my mom. That did take some skill.”

The older generation’s ability was different from that of the current generation.

Madam Felton said the same thing as Linda.

The current generation mostly grew up with love. Even Collin and Jaden, who were exiled, felt their parents' protection.

They were different.

Once someone felt love, it was hard for them to be completely ruthless.

Jessica said, “Starting from the 4th, Chris and I are going on our honeymoon. The affairs in Impelia are up to you guys. Nina, if you need help, just contact Indya. She’s at home and ready anytime. Shannon will help too.”

Nina raised her cup to the two. “There will definitely be times I need your help. Thanks in advance.”

They had all been old friends for years, no need for formalities.

Hurricane Media was now wrapping up. After the New Year, work would start immediately. Jaden and Collin were also about to make their mark domestically.

“I heard a lot of the Hall Group’s artists have ties with Michael,” Roy asked Jessica.

Nina said, “That’s pretty normal in the entertainment industry. Besides, I’m a woman. If I were a man and saw so many beautiful women around me all the time, I wouldn’t be able to resist either.”

Just as she finished speaking, Roy knocked her hard on the back of the head.

“I’ve not gotten to you yet. What’s going on with your rumored relationship with Matthew? Is that guy any good? You can fool Chris by saying it’s a rumor, but you can’t fool me.”

After managing FN for so many years, Roy had never seen Nina involved in hotel-scandal rumors. She was a girl and didn’t use such things to promote herself. Even for the company’s artists, that was not acceptable.

So when he saw this message, Roy immediately knew Nina and Matthew must have something going on.

Matthew was just a trainee idol who had recently returned to Cheria; he wasn’t even an A-list artist in the country. Roy really didn’t understand what Nina saw in him.

“What?” Chris looked shocked at Nina. “You and Matthew are for real? You lied to me?”

Nina gave her brother a fierce glare and, under everyone’s curious eyes, had no choice but to admit the truth.

“Three years ago, I sent Matthew abroad. Originally he was an artist signed to my company. He had potential but needed a chance to get his career going. The environment in Cheria was too comfortable, so I sent him overseas.”
