Listen to this chapter:

The rest of the Phillips family, who had been waiting for the news, could no longer remain calm after seeing such a sight. Some even pulled the butler aside and asked, “What exactly is going on? How could Jasper possibly know Ms. Wilder of the Wilder Group? And how could he be so close to Mr. Green of the Summit Infirmary?”

By now, Chris was already a rising star. Though he was not yet an authority in the medical industry, for someone his age to hold such a position and display such capability was enough to prove he was a prodigy. In a few more years, he would undoubtedly secure a significant place in the industry. It was said that even during his student days, Chris not only earned scholarships but also wrote many influential papers. Now, he could even help hospital interns revise their thesis – despite being only a few years older than them – yet he was already qualified to be their teacher.

The butler stood properly and said in a low voice, “Mr. Collin already knew Mr. Green; they have been friends for many years. Hurricane Media’s ability to collaborate with the Summit Infirmary, and even with Wilder Group, is largely thanks to Mr. Collin’s personal relationship with Mr. Green.”

These were the exact words Collin had instructed the butler to say – just the plain truth. There was no need for idle gossip.

Now that Wilder Group and the Summit Infirmary were known to be backing them, the Phillips family members had nothing left to say. They looked at each other, finally understanding why Collin could be with Jaden, and why Jaden could so quickly secure the vice CEO position at Hurricane Media. With the Wilder Group behind him, everything made sense.

Once in the car, Chris let out a sigh of relief. He rarely did things like this, let alone put on airs to establish authority in front of others. He had been worried he would give himself away – when Francesca introduced him to those people, there were several moments when he almost laughed. He was just a doctor at the Summit Infirmary; how had he somehow become such a big figure in outsiders’ eyes? Chris couldn’t understand.

Blue Sakura was the best place for Galian Cuisine in Imeplia. It was during their honeymoon that Jessica had discovered Chris’s love for Galian Cuisine, and when they returned, she had casually mentioned it while chatting with Collin.

Unexpectedly, those two had remembered.

“Your family is really quite troublesome. That so-called uncle of yours seemed pretty authoritative – everyone listened to him,” Chris said to Collin.

Collin glanced at his phone and said calmly, “Naturally, he’s authoritative. Before I came back, Hurricane Media was under his control. Once I took over, he was the first to be dissatisfied. Now he’s targeting Jaden because he wants to take the vice CEO position away from him.”

Even if he couldn’t monopolize Hurricane Media anymore, at the very least, he wanted to keep that vice CEO role – just in case… What if Collin died someday? Over the past few years, Collin had gone through countless dangers, always with Jaden by his side. In comparison, Collin’s situation had been much more precarious. After all, the Hall family had no idea where Jaden was hiding, nor did they know what he currently looked like. Trying to find him while fumbling in the dark was naturally impossible.

At the entrance of Blue Sakura, Jessica was standing and chatting happily with someone. Chris, sitting in the back seat, quietly watched for a few seconds. From the man’s side profile, he looked like the owner of a shopping mall that had business ties with the Wilder Group. Jessica exchanged a few more words with him. When the man’s companion arrived, they politely said goodbye and went into Blue Sakura first. Only then did they open the door and get out.

“You’re so slow.” Jessica looked at Chris with playful reproach. “I’ve been waiting for so long.”

“Sorry, the family matters took more time than expected,” Jaden apologized first.
