“There’s no other way.” Jessica glanced around.
Chris hadn’t come home yet, probably because the patient's condition was bad; he still had to stay at the hospital to monitor the situation.
Scratching her head, Jessica sat up. “Don’t you know how things work in the entertainment industry? Indya has been having some trouble recently – her ex showed up, and he’s from the Montvue Tower project team. I want to clear obstacles for Indya as much as possible.”
Jaden hummed in agreement. “Alright, anyway, we’ll report whatever you say. The reporters are already waiting at the community gate early this morning. I saw Blake’s gaze… it didn’t look very innocent.”
“Good thing you called,” said Jessica. “A while ago, Chris and I were thinking – Michael came to me wanting to join forces to take down the Hall family. I guess Michael is also quite dissatisfied with the puppeteer behind the Hall family. What do you think, can we team up?”
All the department heads at the Summit Infirmary had stayed up all night, and it wasn’t until noon the next day that the patient was moved out of the ICU.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

They had done their best and left the rest to fate.
The doctors could only do so much, but they had a clear conscience.
After staying up all night, there were no surgeries that afternoon.
Everyone packed up and prepared to leave.
Chris naturally went to the Wilder Group.
Ever since they made up, Chris had come to the Wilder Group more often.
The receptionists recognized him now and didn’t even need to say much – just seeing Chris approach from afar, they immediately contacted security to open the door.
“Let’s leave it like this for now. Keep a close eye on Montvue Tower. I won’t let Indya go there anytime soon. I’ll head over personally the day after tomorrow. Get the proposal and project documents ready. If there’s no problem with the outdoor design team, we can sign the contract.”
Pushing open the door, Jessica was facing the huge French window.

Quiet footsteps approached from behind, but Jessica never noticed.

After hanging up the call, Jessica sighed as she looked out at the busy street.
She turned her chair around and then saw Chris smiling in front of her.
Jessica’s tired eyes brightened instantly.
She immediately got up and walked over.
She really liked seeing Chris at the Wilder Group – seeing her lover in her own territory gave her a satisfaction nothing else could replace.
In the past, Chris never wanted to come, but he no longer minded recently because he had a job.
“What brought you over?”
“The patient’s condition has stabilized. After continuous surgeries yesterday, there’s no need to work overtime today. What were you talking about? How is it related to Indya?”
The two sat down on the sofa.
Shannon had already heard from the reception that Chris had arrived and had prepared some tea.
She knocked and came in.

“Where’s Indya?” asked Jessica.
Indya hadn’t come to the company all day today.
Employees in the public relations department didn’t have to clock in at the company anyway.

Indya, as the public relations director, had actually gotten busier.
