Chapter 240
Blake wore a light-colored casual suit.
If Jessica remembered correctly, Blake had a shoot this morning as an endorser for a car brand.
“You’ll be joining a film crew tomorrow. Why aren’t you going home to make preparations?” asked Jessica.
Blake sat across from them, glanced at Chris, then said calmly, “There’s something I want to talk to you about.”
“I’ll leave you guys to it,” said Chris, standing up.
Before Jessica could stop him, Blake said, “You’re Ms. Wilder’s husband, Mr. Green, it’s okay.”
Sam handed something to Blake and then went out the door.
“About Indya?” asked Jessica.
Chris poured a cup of tea for Blake.
Blake was relaxed as he lifted the cup and nodded. “Yes. You know my intentions, Ms. Wilder. I must be with the person that I like. I don’t want anyone to stand in my way. What do you think about this, Anthony?”
Jessica never interfered in employees’ love lives, but Indya was a friend, not just an employee.
She considered things more carefully.
“Blake, let’s be straightforward. I know you like Indya, but I can’t just hand her over to keep you stable. You should know who I am; otherwise, you wouldn’t have come to the Wilder Group, right?”
“Of course,” Blake continued. “If I like someone, I will do everything I can to pursue them. I can’t force things, so Ms. Wilder can rest assured. What I want to talk about today is Indya’s past relationships.”
“Don’t worry. Indya has been single all these years. Only Anthony is a bit complicated.” Jessica looked at Blake.
“Sam is very talented and should have found out. Anthony was Indya’s ex-boyfriend. They parted on relatively peaceful terms, but Anthony did cheat back then. I don’t think Indya will be back together with him.”
Blake fell silent, seemingly pondering something.
Chris said, “As a fellow man, I understand your feelings when you like someone. Some things can’t be rushed.”
Blake said, “I just don’t want anyone to stand in my way.”
They had been searching for Indya all day and indeed found her sitting with Anthony.
Last night, Indya suddenly woke up sober at two in the morning.
She was alone in the dark house and, for some unknown reason, the power was out.
She had no choice but to go out and find a hotel.
Coincidentally, the hotel she found was where the Montvue Tower project team was staying.
When she went out at noon to head to the company, she met Anthony again in the elevator.
Indya had seen the morning news.
She knew it was all company hype and wasn’t surprised or bothered by it.
She let them do whatever they wanted.
“Say what you want. We don’t need to beat around the bush,” said Indya, her mood sour.
She hadn’t touched her coffee and only stared at the face that was becoming unfamiliar in her memory.
“Anthony, don’t try to work on me.”
Anthony smiled. “You haven’t changed a bit in terms of personality, but you’re much prettier than before.”
“Thanks for the compliment.” Indya flicked her long hair. “Money is the best beauty treatment.”
The rich could do whatever they wanted.
“Did you see this morning’s news? The Wilder Group just signed Blake, and you’re already trying to stir up rumors with him–quite dedicated.”
Indya knew Anthony was testing her and was annoyed, frowning.
“I can’t talk to you about work matters. If you insisted on sitting with me, it’s not just to chat about these pointless things, is it?”
“No, the project team will set off into the mountains the day after tomorrow. The Wilder Group will probably send a few people to accompany them. I heard Ms. Wilder will be there. Will you go too?”
